Return of the Obra Dinn

Genius and unique masterpiece in detective puzzle genre, but some of the cases are too difficult for me, i do not enjoy unbearably difficult puzzles, even though i like difficult games in other genres. Thats why this game is not good enough for me to be called one of my favorites( 7.5/10

The premise and story is excellent, the sound design is immersive, the voice acting is both excellent and an important part of the mystery solving, and the aesthetic is memorable. I have only a few minor complaints. - The cause of death was a bit subjective, leading to more trouble than I thought was necessary - There's no way to review a scene without physically walking over to it (you can read the dialogue in the book, but you can't listen to it or walk around the scene from there). For certain scenes that are only accessible through other scenes, it's a bit tedious - The zoom + inspect detection was a bit odd, sometimes I would target something behind what I was actually going for - Characters that died have a shortcut to view the scene where they died, but characters that disappeared do not have a shortcut to view the scene where they last appeared (instead it just takes you to their generic disappearance entry). My other comment (not necessarily a complaint) is that the game is very difficult. It really does rely on slight clues and inferences from the way people are dressed, their nationality and appearance, who they show up with in certain scenes, etc. Not every clue for a person is present in just the scenes they appear in. If you aren't usually one to play mystery/detective games you might want to be prepared to use a guide if you want to 100% this. But still, a very good game.
