This game does everything right. It's got a very engaging story and fully immerses you into the maritime setting. The art is beautiful (and very unique!), and so is the music. I loved the puzzles, which really reward out-of-the-box thinking, and never felt unfair nor the answers contrived. In fact, they did not feel like 'puzzles' at all, but more like real deaths to be investigated It all comes together beautifully into a single immersive experience, making it one of my favourite games of all time. I only have a few minor notes that I would consider as negatives: navigating the remembrances can be tedious at times, causes of deaths can be unclear, and brute-forcing is too effective a strategy. I didn't intend to brute-force, but I could solve some puzzles by remembering what didn't validate previously, which was rather unsatisfying. Now to figure out whether the developer has made anything similar. I'll be disappointed if they haven't.

A brilliant game with (surprisingly) high replayability! You can finish this, come back a few months later feeling all smart, and get humbled once again. (Of course, if you have great memory, that won't work; but still, crazy how well this game has held up.)

i must confess. i pirated this game when it came out. and it's the only one i regret. i have since bought it on the eshop and now buying it again full price with soundtrack proper on pc. every person has a holy grail. a game that feels like it was made just for them and thats me with obra dinn. no hand holding or complicated mechanics. just you against the huge 60 murder mysteries. and lucky for me, my memory is not great so it's like playing it for the first time all over again plz make more games lucas. my body and my wallet is ready
