- Memento Mortem - "Captain! Open the door..."

This game is like Agatha Christie wrote And Then There Were None (1939) while listening to Spiderland (1991) by Slint
Truly an all-timer for the deduction sickos. It hooks you in quickly with the mystery handed to you in the elevator pitch: find out what happened here. The first few clues you're able to find are both puzzling and quick to solve — partially. It doesn't take long before you realize that, much like the crew of the Obra Dinn, you've bitten off much more than you can chew.
In terms of deduction and puzzle, this was good. In terms of graphics and game play - it was headache inducing. I expected the details to be able to be made out, but quite often it's just a stab in the dark because enough detail isn't present. I get the style, but maybe don't rely on detail work in a low detail format? Also - this isn't for anyone who is hard of hearing or can't distinguish accents - there are no accessibility options to circumvent this. The captions don't denote an accent, and even when an accent is clear it is frequently wrong. (The Austrian accent is a prime example). Related to this, it is also incredibly frustrating that you cannot replay the audio from the book and have to go back to the death. It would save so much time and drudgery to have a button to play the audio while looking at the transcript the book provides. As other reviewers mentioned, the forced time in each death is simultaneously frustratingly long far too short. Either let the inspector watch the death full through and exit immediately, or don't have the weird in between time frame.
Quite possibly my favorite game ive ever played and without a doubt the most special gaming experience. Truly one of a kind game concept.
