Return of the Obra Dinn

Far too few games will ever live up to the standards set by the Return of the Obra Dinn. It is truly one of the greatest games I've played in my time alive, without hyperbole. The greatest weakness of the game is it's length, but that is also keenly it's strength. Few games today present their premises, give you one big mystery, and leave you with your tools to work it out yourself. The story itself is glorious, but the story is largely not the point, it is the process, the deduction at play, that is. In that regard, ROD is essentially standing alone, there is similar deduction games to it, with similar mechanics, but they are often fragmented across several scenarios, there is very few and perhaps one in this day and age that presents an entire mystery, dozens of missing, and begets you figure it out nigh alone. The issue is that's an itch you can only scratch once, one playthrough, and the second will always be somewhat tarnished. I initially tried to get around this limitation by getting friends and family to try it for the first time instead, as if I were some Prime Peer Pressurer of gateway drugs. I let my mother, she completed the game, though I sullied it by not keeping my lips tucked as she played. Then I allowed my cousin. All ♥♥♥♥♥ players, never the same itch scratched, I don't believe so anyways. There is now only me, this mystery I know, and the quietly waning ship. I know everything about it. Feels like sitting atop a corpse.

Return of the Obra Dinn is one of the greatest puzzle experiences that I can recall. The attention to detail in the game's design is immaculate, and every puzzle felt reasonable. About my only complaint with the game is the art direction--while I do think it is very unique and interesting, it also comes with the drawback that many details become difficult to discern. Ultimately, this doesn't get in the way too much, but it is worth noting. If you want a good, quick puzzle game, Return of the Obra Dinn is a fantastic choice.

很优秀的pullze，能体验到抽丝剥茧时的快感，同时还讲了个不赖的故事，值得失忆后再玩一遍（甩锅给船长的成就也太搞了XD

本当に素晴らしいゲームだった。最初は難易度すらよくわからない状態から始まったが、途中からゲームの目的を実感するとともに、60人いる海の男たち一人一人の物語に引き込まれるようだった。メメントモーテムを活用する続編とか見てみたいなぁ。
