RetroMania Wrestling

RetroMania Wrestling is pure arcade fun! It captures that classic ’90s wrestling game vibe with tight controls, colorful graphics, and a roster full of personality. Matches feel fast and satisfying, whether you’re button-mashing with friends or diving into the story mode. The mix of old-school charm and modern polish makes it a great pick-up-and-play brawler. If you grew up on wrestling games from the arcade or early consoles, this is a must-have.

Old School Wrestling. Nods to arcade wrestling games in the past. What more could you want? The controls mat take a little getting used to in the beginning, especially if you are used to the controls of more modern wrestling titles, but they become second nature after a couple matches. I'm speaking specifically from a a controller player standpoint and cannot speak for keyboard. There are branching stories with dialog options allowing you to switch between heel and face which add to the story mode's replay value. The art style is beautiful and colorful. The cut scenes have a cartoon look to them. If you like wrestling games, play this!!!

Great throwback to the old arcade Wrestlefest game of the 90's but with expanded game modes and a story mode. The price is a bit steep but I got for £5 on sale and it's a steal.

I totally regret buying this title. The main issue is that I was expecting the impact and feel of WWF wrestlefest. Instead this game feels overly fast and floaty, with none of the impact of the game it was inspired by. Another issue is that the animations feel cheap and wonky, with skipped frames to chained moves. There are much better retro wrestling games you can buy, so please don't believe the price tag its asking for.

I wasn't sure I was ever going to scoop this game up till I saw it -80% off during WrestleMania weekend. I gave it a shot and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I know it's going to draw comparisons to the old SNES wrestling games but the only pre N64 wrestling game I played was WWF Royal Rumble which I was terrible at and usually would put down to play WCW/NWO Revenge. So if anything, the art style (which I loved) and ring orientation were nostalgic enough for me with the way they looked. It was weird to get used to the auto-grapple feature but the on-screen feedback was SO HELPFUL in helping me master that system. I really enjoyed the story mode this game had, short and simple. You play as Johnny Retro (Nitro, Mundo, Impact, Elite, etc.) making a comeback after recovering from an injury. There are some additional game modes I may come back to at some point. The discussions mention a DLC that sounds intriguing coming out in September 2025, I'm going to keep my eyes open for that. Short and sweet, it is an arcade game after all which I suppose only you will know how much replayability you'd get out of it. I think it'd be fun to play couch co-op but that isn't a likely scenario for me. Ultimately this was a lot of fun but I recommend it getting on sale. Backlog Games Beaten 2025 14/50

This is ok but very limited roster only about 25 wrestlers and from what I can tell no option to add more from like the steam work shop. no option to run your own promotion. you can do a tournament battle royal and some other things but can get boring after a while. Would be nice if you could add a large roster and play for seasons. The only game that seems to do that very well and offer a long time play value is fire pro wrestling world.

If you like Wrestling and old school vibes this game is for you! I LOVE the mix of LEGENDARY & Up and Coming stars! Some i would like to see is: The GodFather/Papa Shango, Eddie Guerrero, JCW (Violent J & Shaggy 2 Dope), Luchadores: (Mistico, Templario, Máscara Sagrada) A collab with Nacho Libre would be very cool (Nacho, Esqueleto, Ramses). Also would like to see Create a Wrestler/Arena mode and maybe more weapons to use. I recommend Visual Assist ON and you will learn from there. Would be cool if they gave a lil more in depth tutorial tho

the nostalgia is what makes this game interesting. Not a fan of the grappling system. A grapple automatically being initialized as soon as you get remotely close to someone makes the game not enjoyable for me. I think a grapple should be manually initialized with a button or button combination. If you grew up in the golden era of wrestling and the beginning of the attitude era, this is worth a play through. If not, this is a game you can probably skip.
