This is definitely not the best entry in the series. Every other remake or remaster is better, but that doesn't make this a bad game by any means. The gameplay is almost identical to the RE2 Remake, with small improvements to inventory management and the dodge mechanic, which, for me, was the best addition to the game. Nemesis is a much better pursuer than Mr. X and creates a greater sense of fear. He's much faster and harder to avoid, but at the same time, he appears less frequently to chase you, which I think was a much-needed change. The story is great overall, and the only thing I really hated was the infamous "S.T.A.R.S." quote. On the negative side, the game is very short and far too linear. You have almost no room for exploration, which is a core mechanic of every other Resident Evil game. I had mixed feelings about the sewers because they were, once again, very linear and had fewer enemies than the other areas. The boss fights are also very inconsistent. On lower difficulties they're far too easy, while on higher difficulties they're surprisingly hard, which caught me off guard the first time I played. Finally, the hospital defense section almost made me stop playing. Overall, this game is only worth buying on sale or as part of a bundle.
very dissapointed nerver played the ps1 version but i have after this game and its missing ALOT of content that makes the ps1 version stand out this is legit for the younger gen even re2 2019 was done better and still had cut content just NOT TO MUCH CUT CONTENT like this game offers
É até legal, msm tendo boa parte do conteúdo original cortado.
I was surprised by how quickly I finished Resident Evil 3 Remake, but I had a lot of fun while it lasted. It's a much more action-focused game than other Resident Evil titles, and while I enjoyed that, I do wish the puzzles were a little more challenging or that there were simply more of them (but then again this game is supposed to be focusing on the action so can I really negate RE3R for that in this review or?? lol) Being chased by Nemesis was terrifying because of how aggressive he is. Unlike Mr. X, who slowly stalks you and builds constant tension, Nemesis closes the distance almost immediately and can deal a ton of damage if you're not careful. They both create fear, but in completely different ways. It took me a little while to get used to the dodging mechanic, but once I did, it became one of my favorite parts of the combat, considering how much fighting the game throws at you... and it fits the faster pace of the game really well. Even though it's shorter than I expected, I still had a great time with RE3R! I enjoyed playing both Jill and Carlos (however little time I had with Carlos......wahh.)
I was not at all disappointed with this game, and was actually thoroughly invested all the way to the end, despite some silly cinematic aspects that aped the cheeseboat movies a little too closely. This was a more compact journey than the one offered in REmake:2, but it also felt like it kept a fair tension and composure throughout. Yes RE2 was more atmospheric and felt more persistent with the environments. But RE3 managed to satisfy the open-air combat and moment-to-moment action, without getting lodged up in any one place too long. And I feel with the unlocks following endgame completion, this will be a game that I will return to. Cheesy as it may be in some parts; most notably is the unqualified girlboss-ness of Jill that does undercut the tension, and horror aspects by a significant margin; all coming to a head when you see her handling a 100kg railgun at the end like it was a lightly packed shoppingbag; or her unflinching head-to-head encounters with the Nemesis about a half-dozen times. Honestly, it could have used a little work, a little more believability in her dialogue, and a little internal tension with the events surrounding Raccoon City...I don't know how she got so tough, it has to be all those gallons of Raccoon milk that she drinks.
