so fun, love puzzles, I want all the achievements

I rate this game a 8.5/10, its a great remake but it wasnt satisfactory to beat. I have a few bones to pick but I want to stress that it does great to represent the horror of running away from things you are underpowered from. I really enjoyed seeing Leon's beginning in the story along with ClaIre's since I had no clue on the lore of the RE main characters. My only experience prior RE2 was from RE4&5 and is fair to say they are more comfortable than in this game, as it plays at the horror aspect of trying to kill the unkillable. I love and hated how the mechanics worked. For one the frustration of being overwhelmed with scenarios that require foresight which broke my immersion quickly. To be exact it was the part with Leon opening the prison cells. Dying and preparing better didnt worked as the pathing for the zombies is random at times that I kept getting cornered inside the cells. Here was the kicker, after taking a resistance herb and tanking so many punches and bites I kept getting stuck inside cells with Mr. X punching be in between healing. The only way I made it through was sacrificing my magnum rounds to penetrate multiple zombies out my way but no way did that felt satisfactory or realistic. Speaking of REALISM, I am sure its meme by now how the world in Resident Evil operates, like making an old building a police station and every door in the world seems to be connected with a key across the buildings. How tf do people navigate normally there, I digress its just a game xD I understand many have played the game before and will scream "skill issue" at anyone new showing some sort sign of struggle, but as a new comer who dislikes looking up anything, I thought of this game being more of a classic experience so I bared through with it. I can see the hype, but I like IT better when RE does it like 4 and 5. NOT 6 OH GOD NO. But thats just me. Let it be known that I love the DNA of the OG games, but its not my cup of tea, I prefer the new games with more action being the focus and there is nothing I want to take from this game that does great, I dont expect every RE to be a shooter game, I dislike RE 6 for being an exaggeration of exactly what I liked but it was too far from the formula. The puzzles felt for me quite annoying as it was more exploration than solving and when I missed a door and kept walking through the whole map in multiple parts... it would start making a dent to my patience. It didnt feel enjoyable for the most part, until solving the actual puzzles! Thats when I came around. Finding items wasnt fun. (1ST PLAY THROUGH) After finishing Leons story I felt much more comfortable to continue with the game by playing Clares story, I got to say my playthrough with her was much more fun, for me at least. Yet I felt more happy to learn more about the lore and get the game over with towards the end, it just wasnt in my strength. I just started RE3 and it the mechanics feel now familiar I am starting to get a flow of things much smoother. I still recommend this game to new comers like me who want to get involved. It definitely scared me and made me cheer in joy after overcoming adversities but the game is not perfect and It didnt quite reached me to want to unlock infinite ammo yet, I think I will get back to 100% after I beat the next one.
