Good gunplay and a lot of fun mechanics, sometimes the bosses get a lil frustrating but that just makes it more fun to finally beat em

As a shotgun player, I can say that an accurate title for the game would be Remnant: From the Ass. Jokes aside, this game is fun with a friend (who has a hunting rifle), especially when the game pits you against a boss that flies away and can't be properly damaged with a shotgun... which all the hardest bosses do. If you're like me, you'll want the shotgun class because shotguns are the best and you can dodge-roll attacks and retaliate at point-blank range. Don't be like me. Don't take the shotgun. This game is kind of a Rogue or Diablo-like with how its campaign is procedurally generated. This means that none of the locations are notably interesting to explore, and there are no secrets or anything to speak of. You do get different bosses in each playthrough. The bosses I got were mixed, with a few annoying flying ones, and a few fun souls-esque melee fighters. The general gameplay is pretty simplistic. You spam out damage with your guns and roll to avoid attacks. You have many 'traits', but they all provide very marginal improvements and most seem completely useless. Gear is very simplistic, with three pieces, each featuring an armour rating, elemental resistances and a special set bonus. This isn't Grim Dawn, you're not going to be rolling rare loot with interesting effects or anything. Overall, shooting things was fun and the game did not overstay its welcome. Solid friendslop.
not worth it, just play DS3 instead
Good 3rd person shooter with very good combat. The game is mainly running through linear maps to dungeons where you fight a boss and eventually find a final boss of the area. Areas are randomly generated and can have different bosses when you reroll an area. The progression is very soulslike except that traits replace stats and you find new traits as you play. The rng in bosses and dunegons adds tons of replayability but the lack of dungeon tile variety really shows after a couple runs. The final area bosses usually have alternate kills that give you different items so you want to retry bosses at least once. Unfortunately there is no way to choose the events, dungeons or end bosses in an area and you may have to reroll a lot which sucks, especially in the swamp dlc. Get it bundled on sale with the dlc, both add good content. subject for more campaign and a new area. Swamp if you can put up with rerolling for "cut" content and the best boss.
