About
A crew. A job. A plan. In Relooted, toss those ingredients together, and you’ve got yourself a classic heist — but with a few twists. Your crew members are everyday citizens with pretty normal careers from different countries in Africa. The job is to liberate African artifacts from Western museums. And the plan? Well, that’s up to you to create.
Near the end of the 21st century, the political powers that be brokered a Transatlantic Returns Treaty, promising the repatriation of African artifacts from museums. Good old fashioned diplomacy was working — until it wasn’t. An amendment switched up the terms and conditions of which objects were to be returned. Museums, now knowing that only publicly displayed artifacts would be given back, were slowly removing artifacts from public display.
When life gives you lemons and museums pulling shady moves, it’s time to chuck the lemons back at life and try a new, stealthier form of diplomacy. You’ve got 70 of these artifacts to (re)loot, all of which exist in real-life and are of huge cultural, historical, and spiritual significance to the people they were taken from.
It all starts with a troublesome little brother, who, yeah, gets you into all sorts of messes. But thankfully, as Nomali, you’ll meet more reliable crew members from different African countries. Recruit people from the classic hacker to… your prim and proper grandma? Don’t worry, grandma pulls her weight.
Plan ahead to lay the groundwork for a beautiful masterpiece of an escape. Check the getaway route, fiddle with puzzles and obstacles, and find spots to recruit the help of the right teammates.
Once you’ve set the stage carefully and the artifact is sitting all pretty — looking quite not-stolen, but no worries, you’re gonna fix that ASAP — this is the moment to perform. Plucking an artifact from its resting spot starts the countdown timer, and with Nomali’s flow-based parkour abilities, escape should feel like you’re in the fun, montage part of a heist movie. But if you slacked on the planning phase, you’re gonna pay for it!
Pull off heists: Plan and prepare your escape route by solving puzzles and placing teammates in the right place. When you’re ready, take the artifact and escape with Nomali’s flow-based parkour abilities.
Recruit a crew: Meet and and gradually recruit different team members with their unique abilities.
Explore an Africanfuturist setting: With a Hideout based in South Africa, you’ll see parts of Johannesburg imagined in the future
Reclaim Real Artifacts: Recover 70 artifacts that exist in real-life, all of which are of huge cultural, historical, and spiritual significance to the people they were taken from.

HUGE shoutout to the team.
A great time that allowed me to vibe with the gamefeel of Prince of Persia and Mark of the Ninja with that modern 5 man band, Leverage. I never felt overwhelmed and if I did manage to organize myself into an unwinnable heist, restarting and resetting operatives was easy thanks to the layouts and useful skips, no having to go through all of the casing options all over again. If I really had to nitpick, I didn't run into a lot of content in the Johanesburg streets after a certain point, maybe I didn't look hard enough. Looking forward to DLC story content if possible and maybe some sick create a heist tools....like chasing Mr. Buttons across the entire city
A good heist is prep and skills - i miss one of the two, but the game always pushes you to try and retry to feel like you've got this! A really really cool adventure
This game is great! The game mechanics were smooth and I liked how fast you felt during the chase sequences when you timed your boosts accurately. Each map had different escape routes that you could plan out which allowed for freedom of playstyles. I really enjoyed the style of the game as well with all the vibrant colors. I also ended up learning a lot about Africa through the in game lore which was awesome. The only complaint I had was that there wasn't much to do in the town in between missions after unlocking the hideout. Overall though, a great game!
This game is hella fun and I'm learning a ton!
Really enjoying this! The heists feel super smooth and rewarding. Love the vision of Future Joburg!
Well this was an adrenalinic gameplay, and the story was also engaging, which also made me more invested than I already was on learning about the represented artifacts and their history. While some little parts of the parkour where not that fluid even while doing the best timing possible, but didn't really kill the flow, the rest was awesome and yes the fluid parts of the escapes reminds of a modern Sonic game, which is very nice, I must say that it felt like the Lupin The 3rd stealth game I always imagined, minus the weapon of course, something fluid and adrenalinic, with some kind of clever or with bad puns humour during the heist and/or while planning it. Of course I'm not comparing the two kind of humour because they are very different, I'm just saying it's nice for both to have their sense of humour. However with some adjustments to some little janky parts, I say it would be very interesting to see some kinda of crossover or innovation toward Lupin The 3rd series, with of course new mechanics and weapons, with an interesting confrontation in case of a crossover. If not that, a Lupin The 3rd game made by these developers would be interesting, since the last non-mobile game of the series was released in 2010, 2007-2008 if we refer to games also released outside of Japan
This game reminded me a heck of a lot of the Carmen Sandiego games I played as a child. It's not too similar gameplay-wise, but I learned a lot and the heists have puzzles throughout. As the current top commentor alludes to, this game can feel a bit repetitive at times. I found that when that was happening I needed to take a break. But I will admit the story carries the motivation to play through more than the escape sequences, though I felt the excitement each time. Which is to say that this game has excellent vibes.
A platformer with a message :) Good music & scenario and not expensive. First try is enjoyable, I'll continue the review after a bit more or it
