Regiments is a Real-Time Tactics game set in Germany 1989. The Cold War has gone hot, and the inferno is raging. Lead your Regiment through the fires of conflict and the fog of war. Break through the lines, call in artillery, maneuver, feign retreats, stage defenses, counter-attack. Do not relent.

We need more cold war RTS like this! It's simpler than other contemporary games out there, yet effective. Particularly enjoying the slower pace which at least to me gives it a more tactical and thoughtful approach. The reinforcement and points system feels more akin to World In Conflict, could be the easy to understand UI. Surprisingly the visuals are pretty good, not exceptional but nice, the detailed effects and physics make it feel alive. For the price this is a great RTS that calls out to the early 2000's, what you see is what you get, no nonsense.
This game is ideal as an introduction to the wargaming genre; since playing this, I got very into WarNo and WarGame, and they were much less intimidating because I had experience with Regiments. If you've played the more advanced games in the genre you might not feel like there's much here. I do like the entrenching and dismount mechanics, though, and wish other games took inspiration here. However, the game isn't very big, has no MP, and the dev appears to have not updated it since 2024, so don't expect any more than what it says on the tin.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very good RTS, more units, less micro needed than WARNO. The entrenchment mechanics are great, the AI is actually very smart. Your units feel very precious, and it is rewarding to make them survive, retreat, and return to the battlefield, gaining experience the longer they stay alive and fighting. I had a VDV unit survive for almost an entire campaign, and it turned into a monster unit. The mix and match of different >Regiments> is very interesting. It is purely single player, which is an interesting choice. However not every game needs to be multiplayer. Definitely a buy from me if you like cold war RTS games. (I got this game as a christmas gift)
I left a negative review earlier but thought maybe i take it down after I got further in the game, besides the devs lack of design skills for making defense missions it seems in the later content the AI gets infinite units to spawn and can spawn them in front, behind and around ur units when they are in combat effectivly killing most strategies, the devs clearly didn't test there game and decided to abandon it after some patches realizing they had no idea what they were doing, I understand why they made sure to add a skip option for all the singleplayer content as they knew some of it was so poorly balanced and made that they had no chance of fixing it, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEAD GAME
I bought Warno, but I have ADHD.
Mission design needs serious work. It's either boring and hand-holdy or tilted against you in ways that don't make sense. Harder difficulty AI also does have innate knowledge of where your forces are at all times which is always a HUGE negative to me IMO with strategy games. Could very clearly see enemy movements shifting to the movements of units I have halfway across the map. Just bad AI design, this isn't the 2000s, do better.
Easy to learn, hard to master. You won't struggle with UI as it's exceptionally well made, and as you start to get the hang of tactics more intricate features become visible. It's singleplayer only, but AI seems very much competent in leading the opposing side, be it in battle directly or in dynamic campaigns called "War Paths" (Winds of Change DLC feature). It's pretty much a complete product at this stage, and in recent times updates have slowed down (mainly due to lack of bugs in current build), but Winds of Change expanded the game with airborne troops, couple of new factions and earlier mentioned War Paths mode which is great. Overall a solid recommendation, we need more well-made RTSes like this
I have been told by many that this game is better for Single Player than WARNO. It is not. What it IS is a very good game even if you ignore the fact it was made by 1 (ONE) person, which should never be done. The comparison to WARNO is somewhat wrong both because Eugen is (for an indie) a massive team, and because the games are very different. In WARNO you control every single vehicle, in Regiments, the vehicles are part of an inseparable platoon. There is LOADS AND LOADS of single player gameplay that is well worth the full price. And as Broken Arrow has showed, making this type of game a good game is not easy.
It's weird that people are calling this game "dead" - it's not dead, it's just complete. Overall I'd describe it as a much more accessible game than any of the Eugen games but not so arcadey that it doesn't feel like a military simulation.
