Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game is dead. Dev's did not listen to the community, their main mode of discussion with the community (a public Discord) was essentially an echo chamber where if you spoke poorly or made a valid criticism of the developer you were either muted or entirely banned. They catered to their toxic yes-men group of generic FPS shooter fans and turned what was once a fun, stealth-based, almost social-deductionesque shooter into a boring slogfest where every match was just running everywhere because obviously its better than stealth to just do rushdowns every time when there's no real penalty for it. They attempted to course correct later in the game's life by implementing a feature called "suspicion" where NPCs would consider certain actions suspicious, and it would slowly drain your cover so as to try and dissuade this kind of gameplay. However, it was far too little too late and the game ended up dead shortly after. Balance patches were absolutely horrid, there was next to no marketing for the game, and while I loved this game to death while it was alive, it NEVER justified the $20 price of admission. Its a damn shame, when the game came out it really did have a fun gameplay loop and it just got completely killed. Generic PVP slop. I sincerely hope at some point there's a (fanmade, I do not trust this dev team at all) revival at some point, or even a better game based on this sort of gameplay.

It's a yes, but sadly dead. It has been almost a year and a half since this game shut down development, but I still think about it at least once a month. I just needed to shout this into the void for no one to hear. Thank you for your time.
The Devs publicly dropped the game in December 2024, community is entirely dead, yet Tripwire keeps it on the steam store and still advertises it in sales... DO NOT BUY, YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY.
They did what all Game Developers say is impossible and way to expensive to be done aka LETTING PLAYERS HOST THEIR OWN SERVERS instead of shutting them down. Huge respects for Sweet Bandits Studios and Tripwire Presents . Ubisoft and others may learn something from you.

I cannot recommend buying this game for one simple reason -> servers 'might' go offline. I would feel bad recommending a game of which its future is uncertain. The devs stated 'servers will be up for the foreseeable future, and they are exploring options to make the game accessible in the long term'. This was posted December 2024. From this statement, although servers are still up now... they are clearly planning on sunsetting the servers at some point. Otherwise there would be no need for 'long term solutions'. With the tiny playerbase now, and an uncertain future... save your money, even on sale. It won't be worth it. Please don't support devs who won't give a clear ending to their game.
Dead but original game. Should be made free to attract new players
This is an excellent game that has, sadly, gone overlooked by a broad audience fascinated by marginally different online shooters. Deceive is a really fresh take on action and espionage but rolled into the format of a shooter. It's really fun to pretend to be an NPC, it turns out. Slipping around people in plain sight was a thrill and hilarious all at once. Lots of good things to say about the gameplay. Unfortunately, because this game failed to garner a decent audience, the entire community is made up of sweats. When the game first dropped, it was incredible. Lots of people were trying the game out and matches were much more even. Eventually people lost interest -- leaving nothing but a small, dedicated core of players. These people will completely destroy you less than 5 minutes into match. They have no mercy. You will die. If you think you can like this game and grind it enough to survive, my hat's off to ya. This was a lot more fun for me when people played it more like a casual party game. Now it's way to serious face for my taste. Your mileage may vary -- if you have the dedication.
Its kind of crazy that devs still didnt turn this game f2p, but keep pumping out battle passes and cosmetics for 50 ppls that are still playing it. Its a good game, but its dead af. Make it f2p, dont be dumb.
It's a genuine tragedy that I got into the game after the dev's closed their doors. I'm assuming the queue is still somewhat alive because people want to get some playtime in before the servers eventually shut down, but this game didn't deserve the end that it got. Such a disappointment we won't get to see more of this game. Here's to hoping Thick as Thieves will fill the gap this game will leave behind when it's gone. If it's not too late when you see this, I recommend you check it out.
