Redout 2

Holy CRAP this is good! Takes me back to the 90s in the best ways possible! They absolutely nailed the feeling of acomplishment from pulling off the right sequence of moves, barely avoiding the barriers, and winning a race. The aesthetics and the soundtrack NAIL IT!

I love pod racing, you love pod racing, we all love pod racing. This is just pod racing on steroids... I think.

I played this on the Steam Deck and it works superbly! I get steady 60 fps even at high speeds and with all the shenanigans going on screen at any given time. It feels like Wipeout Pure in all the best ways! The game is fun, fast paced, with a great tutorial section (and first league to ease into the game play). You constantly unlock new gear and style accessories for your ship, giving a good sense of progression. The tracks are all gorgeous and complex from the start and the AI combatants are pretty challenging from the beginning so you get a natural sense of progression.

Adrenaline packed. As someone who loves the wipeout franchise, redout is as close as it gets to matching the absolute thrill of those games. It has over 300 single player events to complete with a variety of vehicle types and parts to customise. It is challenging and has a decent soundtrack. Theres no battle mode or weapons but there is a turbo boost mechanic which you have to balance with overheating the vehicle. You can reach speeds over 1,000 mph!. The mutliplayer is quite dead now but the game does nicely to scratch that wipeout itch. Having an absolute blast on this game and we need more anti grav racers like this.

Grand nostalgique de la série Wipeout, force est de constater que son esprit perdure via la série Redout. De très bonnes sensations de vitesse, une difficulté bien dosée (on commence à sentir que l'IA fait de la résistance à partir de la deuxième catégorie de vitesse), le tout parsemé de petits défis afin de vous pousser à devenir meilleur et débloquer des cosmétiques pour vos vaisseaux. Que demander de plus ? La musique est ok, et accompagne assez bien les courses, mais je préfère écouter du Electric Callboy lorsque je pilote mon Koeniggswerth (ce qui parfaitement raccord pour le RP pilote germanique 😏). Honnêtement, l'une des meilleures surprises de cette année 2026, tant le pilotage est grisant !

Redout is by far one of my fav antigrav style games and as a returning player new to PC from the xbox side, I have say it plays beautifully by comparison, from visuals and especially the FPS. very satisfying to learn the tracks. I do believe that the second game is a fair bit easier than the first (the first game felt like driving on ice and so allot of corners had there own unique interactions based on speed, angle of approach, braking or not ect). The cockpit view from the 1st game is severely missed as it was my fav view point that did not feel like I am dragging my chin on the floor while being perfect for immersion, its a shame to not have it as an option. I think the campaign is a little long winded to say that you cant operate the slower ships regarding upgrades in multiplayer, but it is appreciated that it is for the purpose of track mastery. highly recommend this game if your into fast paced racing with allot of subtle skill expression
