NEXT GENERATION AG RACING IS HERE!
Redout is a tribute to the old racing monsters such as F-Zero, WipeOut, Rollcage, and POD. It is designed to be an uncompromising, fast, tough and satisfying driving experience, soaked in that vertigo that stands at the core of the arcade racing genre. The floating system and driving models are based on physics: each turn, slope, hard braking, acceleration, each turn and twist of the track will apply a unique force to the ship. A sharp low-polygon style blends meshes and terrains with the latest state-of-the-art shading and lighting effects provided by the Unreal Engine 4, creating beautiful and instantly recognisable aesthetics. Breezy coastlines, eerie frozen landscapes, vast desert plains: the melancholic, dystopian atmosphere of a semi abandoned Earth is the background for the most high-speed, tense and beautiful futuristic racing clashes.
Online multiplayer - match against 12 players around the world for a real challenge

Redout is the fastest game ever made. If you can handle it. It's not about the numbers you see on screen, it's about the vibrations, the landscape and buildings flying by, the high-speed collisions, the effects, the sounds, the immersion: everything is meant to feel like you're going FAST.
Challenge up to 12 players from all over the world and find out who's the best Redout pilot in history! Do you think you have got what it takes? Prove it. True glory is a flame lighted at the skies.
Prepare your ears for one of the most intense dynamic soundtracks you have ever heard. Redout enhances your experience and transcends visuals, immersing yourself in a mixture of sounds and music that adapts to your playstyle and your performance on the track.
We have been working hard to give you the best VR game yet. Get inside your HMD to experience 3D and distances like never before, you'll know exactly where the apex is and feel a whole new level of control. VR support is optional.
Control is the most important feeling when you are racing at 800km/h. Redout features believable physics derived from quad-copters controllers and real magnetic forces. We came up with the next generation in AG handling. There's always a way to face a corner without braking, but you have to prepare for it and use everything you've got. Steer, strafe and turbo out of a corner are the basics: upgrades and powerups will grant you even more control on your ship's behaviour. You'll need to dominate your ship before you face the advanced tracks.
Whatever you are in for a casual multiplayer match or just for some chitchatting during a break, the official Discord server is there for you! Join our community and get to know some of the people who helped shaping Redout's lore and ecosystem, on top of getting exclusive information about development and previews on what's happening inside the Redout Universe.
AD 2560.
Earth stripped of its natural resources. Global warming caused the melting of the northern polar ice cap, tropical storms ravage all areas that didn’t suffer from desertification.
Pockets of humans are crawling their lives away in a few slums, descendants of those who were left behind or refused to leave. Others created huge conurbations, based upon some of the most populous cities once on Earth. Most of humanity, though, has moved on the Moon, Mars, Titan, and other Jupiter’s moons. Earth is often used as a location for entertainment events like hi-speed races, futuristic amusement parks and zoo parks, which allows local communities to work and profit in a harsh environment.
One of the most popular sports is the SRRL, or Solar Redout Racing League: the fastest racing league ever created, where humanity's best pilots drive high speed anti-gravity ships on magnetic tracks, risking their lives at each and every corner, in exchange for neverending glory.

This game expects perfection from the player, in an awful way. And so, I require perfection from the developer. Fix your tutorial so it actually explains how you're supposed to strafe. Fix your AI so It doesn't rubberband the ♥♥♥♥ out of you if you even make one mistake. Fix your map design so it takes into account how slippery the cars handle. And to the dev: I'll give the same advice the game gave me when I hit the wall. "Do it again, but better. Repeat until perfect." See how fun it is.
Honestly, the game was fun and would have been fun to revisit for some good ol high speed vr anti grav racing.... if I could. I can count on one hand the number of games I've purchased that have gotten WORSE over the course of their life cycle. This is one of the most disappointing titles in my library. A game with a great launch and good aesthetics ruined by greed and having features removed? Also pretty lame that in the near ten years since it's released there's next to no controller/wheel/hotas support and no custom keybindings. When essentially every other game in my library is constantly improving, adding features and polishing, why would I ever want to come back and support devs or publishers that act like this. Removing working features you marketed the game with? Not cool.
Once you understand the handling mechanics (I recommend looking up a tutorial) it's so much fun. You really feel like you've entered a flow state. Music and visuals are amazing as well
A lot of good ideas, it almost feels like F-Zero GX. A huge compliment. But the maps and the music are lacking, the vehicles have very little to offer in play style, only Medium fast, tanky, or really fast. Nothing feels different, everything seems to drive the same. The upgrade system is lacking, not a lot goin on other than it looks pretty and a fairly difficult learning curve. Once you learn about all the movement, the game loses any difficulty. If you play past the part where the filter tries to catch you the game offers nothing more.
速度与激情
This game is so fast and so much fun! I was about 19 when the original F-Zero came out on the SNES and me and my friends played that game everyday for about a year. Ever since then I've played a few anti-grav racers, but none ever quite scratched that F-Zero itch. Then, about a month ago, YouTube recommended me a Redout video by someone named "Dandy ツ" and I suddenly turned into the Leonardo DiCaprio meme where he's pointing and recognizing what's on the TV because I immediately thought of F-Zero. I watched all that guy's videos (which were actually for Redout 2, the sequel), downloaded the demo, and put both Redout 1 and 2 on my wishlist and waited for a sale. I loved what the small demo Redout has (1 ship and 1 track only; it's just a taste of the game), so I decided to pick up the full game when it went on sale for $5. And, yeah, the game's freaking brilliant! This is THE anti-grav racer! The soundtrack is killer, the visuals are fast and buttery smooth, and the tracks are really varied (I picked up all the DLC, too which was about $15 more on sale). Piloting the ships is a bit of a learning curve, especially learning how to strafe and use the left analog stick to point up and down, as well as lean left and right like a motorcycle, but after a little practice, I've gotten the basics down pretty well. This is a super-fun game. It's kind of old school since all the tracks are bespoke - there's no open world nonsense here, and overall it feels like an old school game like F-Zero or even something like SSX Tricky where you really have to learn the tracks (and the tracks do seem to have alternate paths, just like in SSX before it went open world). I don't know why I never heard of this series before or why it isn't more popular, but if you like old-school anti-grav racers, techno music, fast, colorful visuals, and bespoke challenges, then Redout is your game!
It's a pinball simulator. Top speed in two seconds on the beginner craft. No corner is built for top speed and you can't see or make any corner. Pitch/tilt/turn do nothing. On the first time-trial track the lights go out.. Only missing reversed controls to be worse.
Bought this just to use the VR mod and it's good fun!
Game doesnt seem to work in vr anymore
Stupid piece of garbage refuses to load in VR. Edit: I did finally find a way to get it working in regular Steam VR, so it DOES WORK, technically. But I really had to go digging for that solution, and implementing it was not at all intuitive. It's almost like the devs don't want you to play the game in VR, which is a shame because VR is the only reason why I bought it.
