If I wasn’t trying to 100% the game, I probably wouldn’t come back to it. It’s clearly an evolution from its mobile predecessor, but it still feels mostly the same. For an “upgraded” version of Zombieville, there isn’t enough content to make each playthrough feel unique or make me want to keep playing again and again. I just end up doing the same thing every time, and while that might be the point of arcade-style games, it doesn’t feel rewarding enough.
game got stale after a week
论玩法不如僵尸危机3,论内容不如闪客快打4
To put it straight Zombieville USA 3D has a lot of charm with its stylized characters and jazz score. Unfortunately the developers could not get over the mobile game development philosophy. There is barely any content. There are only a basic handful of weapon, a few zombie variants who progressively get spongier and spongier until you die. Rinse and repeat. Whoever labeled this game a roguelike/ roguelite clearly does not enjoy roguelikes or has no idea what a roguelike is. There are no real builds here just the same mobile game loop. However the core gameplay is solid fun is small dozes. How i wish the developers came back to this game and dropped the roguelike / lite tag and turned his into a fully packed game with multiple stages, a massive arsenal of weapons, powerups and zombies etc. Then this would be one of my favourite games of all time. Unfortunately as it is right now, its a demo of what could have been. A demo of a game with a price tag.
It’s… a bit… too… uneventful. Monotonous. Repetitive. Simplistic. Streamlined. Predictable. Plain. The lack of sound (helicopter, music, anything) on the main menu made me think something was missing or broken. It doesn’t run as smoothly (and/or look as pretty) as I would expect or prefer (on Steam Deck OLED). Loved Mika Mobile’s games on iPhone as a teenager… but that was about 15 years ago or more. Sadly, though, this particular game is like watching paint dry with extra steps. This soft reboot is boring in basically all the same ways that The Binding Of Isaac is boring—but with nearly none of the redeeming intrigue, variety, style, or surprise. I would sooner play and recommend playing literally any other roguelite—whether it involves zombies, ‘villes, 3D, the USA, shooting, or none of the above.
This game is super fun to play!
This is a recommend from me, but with caveats. The dev worked on this for years and clearly put a lot of love into it, so that makes it all the stranger that they released it, put out a handful of updates, then disappeared and haven't commented on this game since. I do NOT believe the game should be live-service, but the game is pretty bare-bones and it was suggested numerous times throughout development AND for a brief period afterward that there would likely be content updates released following the 1.0. As it is, it's a fun little game that's probably worth the price of admission, but the single map gets extremely repetitive extremely quickly, and neither the incremental weapon upgrades you unlock nor the funny character designs (while endearing and genuinely gorgeously stylized) are enough to keep me playing. I really wish the dev would've at least let people know they were no longer planning future updates or content, but the game is good fun as-is for about 10-15 hours, which is really all you can ask for from a $10 game.
I started this game thinking, "How hard can a few zombies be?" Twenty minutes later I'm running backwards, out of ammo, throwing everything I own at the undead, and screaming for help from teammates who are somehow in even worse shape than I am. The gameplay is simple, fast, and ridiculously addictive. Every new weapon makes you feel unstoppable for about 30 seconds before the game reminds you that there are approximately one million zombies headed your way. The graphics have that fun cartoon style that says, "Don't worry, this is lighthearted!" Meanwhile I'm fighting for my life against a horde the size of a small city. Perfect game for co-op, laughs, and those moments where your entire plan falls apart instantly
Fun, simple, satisfying gameplay/combat loop! Ez 100%, although it gets a little grindy towards the end, but doesn't take too long. Worth it for the nostalgia, especially on sale :]
