[Redacted] The Safehouse

Saw a youtube short about the game decided to check it out because I love me some detective games with mystery vibes. The game is very short, not to discredit it. Neat vibes, and a quick little story. I'd like to see this format expanded to a more full game. The pieces are there for a great mystery detective game. The only thing I found a little odd was the reveal system on the computer, needing to build up reveal points wasn't terrible, but I think there is room to improve the system or think of another way to add a bit of a puzzle into the mix. I'm interested to see what the dev may put out next.

Compact but enjoyed the world building and thought the mystery unfolded at just the right pace. And no motion sickness issues which was a plus. Good short game.

What a great little game. Took just over an hour, but kept me happy and engaged the entire time - and had a nice spooky twist!

Computer puzzle was one of the most fun puzzles I've done in awhile. Great game, wish it was longer. Please make more :)

its fun and gets ur mind going, u feel like ur gonna get jumpscared but u actually never do until the end lol, good unsettling sounds too

Fun way to spend an hour.

It's kinda like Her Story, with a "walkaround and open doors to reveal new keywords or phrases" sprinkled on top, but lacking the theatric performance and requirement to watch and analyze. That's not to say this isn't good, it's just- under baked. The puzzles aren't satisfying to solve, and the text-based system of "unlocking" is easily thrwarted by typing in keywords like the 5-Ws in order to open them all in one big swoop. You would really need more of both; a reason to walk away from the research to interact with the environment, or a deeper focus on exploration of the material ala The Roottrees are Dead or Obra Dinn. It's not terrible, and I actually enjoyed the mystery (which doesn't hold up to any kind of scrutiny if you actually examine it), so I'm gonna give it a thumbs up. It's a 1-2 hour experience, with a pretty fun conclusion, but it's also very sophomoric.
