About

Casting Whispers is a first-person psychological horror game where sound is your greatest tool. Investigate the paranormal events that plague a city in 1960s America. Shut your eyes. Trust your senses. Listen to the darkness.
1961. Corburgh, Connecticut, USA. An old industrial city plagued by urban legends, the sins of its past, and unexplained phenomena. For Victoria, a lab assistant working in the field of psychic and mental psychology known as Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP), Corburgh was always home. A place to study and learn.
But tonight, something is very wrong with her trusted mentor, Professor Henry Zubringer. Something lies in wait at his apartment building. Something that has sat hidden in the heart of Corburgh for a very long time. Enter the shadows within 1195 Norman Ave., investigate what happened there, and try to save your friend... and yourself.
What was that noise? Press and hold ‘Listen’ to shut your eyes, calm your mind, and focus your hearing. The Listening feature can be used to eavesdrop on secret conversations behind doors, find hidden mechanisms, and hear that which cannot be seen. Use it to make new discoveries, piece together the full mystery, and survive the entity that stalks you.
Casting Whispers features a single-player linear narrative across 6–8 hours of gameplay, set in claustrophobic environments steeped in Americana and Lovecraftian influence. You can unlock multiple endings depending on chance or your own choices, some of which aren’t entirely obvious. How many will you dare to find?
“Casting Whispers is a proud indie project, created by a solo developer and fully voiced by union talent. I could not have made Casting Whispers without the help of those who gave advice and collaborated with me. It has been a joy to make. Thank you!” — Lantern Bay

Listen For The Truth, Listen For Survival: Shut your eyes, calm your mind, and listen to the darkness. The Listening feature can be used to eavesdrop on secret conversations behind doors, find hidden mechanisms, and hear that which cannot be seen.

Casting Whispers is an indie psychological Cosmic / Lovecraftian / Eldrich horror game in which your character explores an apartment building with weird inhabitants and otherworldly oddities. Most of the game is a walking simulator, with a couple of mild puzzles to solve near the end of the game. The game takes approximately 4 hours to complete, and there are 2 endings that I know of. + The game's atmosphere is extremely well done. Most of the game you are in an apartment complex with a storm raging outside. Just walking around and exploring was mostly fun. The graphics can be turned up very high if you have the PC for it. + The story was interesting and kept me invested till the end. Lots of twists near the end. + Excellent music, soundscapes, and voice acting throughout. -/+ The game starts off with an incredibly slow burn, about 30 minutes to an hour of walking before ever reaching anything interesting. The atmosphere was really nice however, I didn't mind it, some others might find it boring though. - The endgame final monster / creature was not interesting to look at, low budget. - The save points are too few and far in between, I lost about 30 minutes of gameplay due to a bug and falling through the floor into a void. - There are several boring stretchs of running back and forth between rooms on different floors. These areas could have used more monsters, shadows, jump scares, anything interesting really. The game starts off mysterious, full of intrigue, and it was good and passable throughout. However it never does anything exceptional near the end of the game to take the genre into new heights. This solo indie developer definitely has world building talent though, and I will look forward to what comes next. Overall: 7.5/10
I honestly didn't know what to expect from this game. The demo intrigued me so I was happy to play the full game. I think it's pretty decent for what the developer was trying to pull off. I only wish there were more jumpscares. But I can dig it. 7/10
I enjoyed this game. The writing was intriguing and the atmosphere was great. The voice acting was way superior to what i expected from a project at this level. The listening mechanic introduced was fun to play with, and felt very natural to use by the end, but i think it could have been explored further. I experienced some minor bugs but only once was it enough to bother me. I will be recommending this game friends and i look forward to seeing the devs next project.
Great game. If you love horror games, or story games, or thriller games you're going to love it. The sound design is phenomenal and plays a core part of the game in a fun way. Should definitely grave this game!
Really amazing game! I play a lot of horror games, and this one really stuck out to me in a great way! This is definitely not your jump out of every corner horror, but the story, sense of unease and not really knowing what's real makes up for it. It is very much a walking sim where you have to do some detective work to figure things out but I love those kind of games where it's not necessarily given to you. Does it need some optimization, yes, but I don't think that takes away from how great of a story this game is! In the end, if you like detective style horror games with a great story, then this one is for you!
This is insanely ambitious for a first game from a dev, and it's VERY well done. It's more thriller than horror, and very surreal, but I thought it was good. Only downside is it could use some optimization, I had one crash towards the end (and a few when trying to launch the game for the first time), and a little bit of stuttering (usually when first opening the game).
Completed the game with 55% achievements and the bad ending. A super cool and trippy realistic horror bringing you through different realms as you explore a huge unsettling apartment building and unravel its mysteries of shadow ghosts and tentacle monsters. So much fun gameplay and tons of content to immerse yourself in this magnificent worlds
👉 Bitte, Entwickler – bringt deutsche Untertitel! Dann wäre es wirklich perfekt. Fazit: Atmosphäre: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Grafik: 💯 Sounddesign: 👂 Gänsehaut pur! Preis-Leistung: Top! LG HundelungeVR / Flat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0szB6bypi1E
