About
Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on - and Tear, her newfound fairy "companion", won't take no for an answer! As Recette, you have to decide how you'll get your stock - either through playing the markets in town or going out into the wild with an adventuring friend and thrashing beasts until they give up the goodies - how much to sell things for, what the shop should look like, and how to best go about getting the money Tear needs to pay off the loan. If you can't come up with the money... well, hope you like living in a cardboard box.

It's a really cute game! Would I say you should buy it? Yes, but only if you have a Windows device. Review is negative due to firmware limitations with linux kernal. I'm sure it works fine on windows, but volume controls are non-functional with proton. The amount of tutorials and text I'm skipping reminds me that this is a beginner's RPG and sales game. Lack of customization and the options menu being largely non-functional is a dealbreaker for me. Is it worth 20 bucks? No. ♥♥♥♥ no. Maybe 5.
One of the best loops out there. Great for a casual but enough depth for a player to get multiple playthroughs in. It's one of those games you come back to every year or so.

캐피탈리즘 호!
it started out with a Jerma vid... then the vod. Then rewatching the vod over and over. When I finally decided to get this game my life changed meaning- it went from dull to RISE AND GRIND! I love the gameplay, I love running my silly item shop and going dungeon crawling. It took me a few runs to finish the main game, and I honestly loved every minute of it. I think it's pretty forgiving, and a great game for those who love adventuring and selling things. There is so much to uncover! I'm still not done discovering everything. Play the game, get money, adventure with friends, and enjoy your new capitalistic lifestyle. Capitalism, ho!
很好玩呐,游戏系统的设计类似炼金工房,不过将委托变成了刷宝开店卖东西,整体很精致 吐槽一下里面的客人,特别是少妇和小女孩,超级扣!!

Recettear game loop has 2 main parts: the item store and adventuring. Adventuring works very much like standard action JRPG from the time. Graphics and music are very similar to Secret of Mana. Not bad, but nothing unique either. There is a story, sometimes funny and quite nonsensical. Adventuring in dungeons gives you items that you can sell at your item shop. The main thing of this game is running the item store, obviously. I haven't played anything else quite like it. You choose which items to sell, some of them might be high or low price at times. Then people come to your store, and will offer to either buy or sell items to you. Then you can haggle the price up or down, or play it safe to get combo XP bonus. By completing sales you gain store XP, giving various updates such as store expansion, expanded item collection, etc. Recette as character is cute, cheery, little anime girl, guided by a "teacher" style fairy Tear. Some of the comments from the game ("Capitalism, ho!", "Money can be used to buy goods and services"), have become memes. The game does have surprisingly good writing at times. You could call Recettear as having light visual novel sections as well, when Recette is browsing the town, meeting citizens. Recettear is not a super complex, but it is lighthearted, fun and unique. I have bought this game twice, first time was on Stardock Impulse many years ago.
Fun.
