A delightful Zelda-style adventure game. The world is genuinely really interesting, and the writing + animation is top notch. For a solo project I was baffled by how much unique animation and visuals there is for cutscenes. The combat also feels great, but definitely could use some polish regarding certain attacks being WAY too powerful and enemies being barely a threat. There is a spellbook you get that has 2 projectile attacks that just shred everything, and I had to intentionally not use it in order to have the bosses feel like an actual big deal. But even then they do barely any damage to you, so I would really like to see the difficulty be tweaked if possible. Basically the *feel* of combat is awesome, but the balance is far too easy. Also I LOVE how much that characters in this world are so flamboyant and stuff. It makes for such fun sequences. The ending to ACT 1 was an especially fun bit lol. Carter is one fruity boi and feels really expressive despite being a silent protagonist, but I really enjoy how he's not the only one here that acts all flamboyant and showy. There's just this like almost "positive angst" energy to the story and characters that I found to be super fun. So yeah, this game is peak and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes. One of the most impressive solo projects I've ever seen.

Learning to cross my toes together waiting for Act 2
Can't wait for the rest of the story ! So far it's only quite short (4hrs while exploring everything) but what it has gives me great hope for the future, it has a lot of great ideas that I haven't seen anywhere else and I'm sure act 2 will be just as good (if not better !) It's still a bit rough in some areas (especially the camera) but it doesn't impede on the enjoyment I had with it. I'd love more complex puzzles tho !
This is overflowing with so much potential. I love the story, art direction, and the characters so much. I just wish the combat was a bit more difficult. Even on hard I wished enemy encounters were a bit longer.
is good i like
REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest is an Early Access action RPG developed and published by Goba that sets out to deliver an adventure inspired by classic fantasy epics while incorporating stylish, combo-driven combat. The story follows Carter, an ordinary villager whose life changes dramatically after he becomes entangled in a struggle over a mysterious artifact with the power to alter the fate of the world. As rival groups race to obtain this relic, Carter uncovers a much larger mystery involving the creation of the Perfect Homunculus, an artificial being whose existence could reshape history. The narrative gradually expands from a personal tale into a broader conflict involving political intrigue, ancient civilizations, and hidden secrets, giving the game an ambitious foundation that extends well beyond its opening chapter. Combat serves as the heart of the experience, rewarding players who learn enemy attack patterns instead of relying on repetitive button mashing. Battles encourage the use of combos, aerial attacks, dodges, and carefully timed counters while allowing players to experiment with different approaches against increasingly dangerous opponents. A notable addition is Carter's Homunculus companion, which is integrated into both the story and gameplay. This ally provides assistance during combat while reinforcing the central themes surrounding artificial life and its growing importance within the world. The result is a combat system that feels active and engaging, offering enough depth to satisfy players who enjoy mastering mechanics without becoming overly complicated for newcomers. Exploration is another strength of the game, with the opening chapter taking place in the Human province of Kaliere. The region presents a kingdom attempting to recover from the scars of past wars, and its towns, ruins, and wilderness all contribute to the world's identity. Hidden treasures, optional quests, environmental puzzles, and collectible lore encourage players to venture beyond the main storyline. Rather than rushing from one objective to the next, the game rewards curiosity by filling its environments with details that expand the setting's history and reveal the motivations of its many factions. These optional discoveries make the world feel more believable and provide additional context for the larger conflict unfolding around Carter. The visual presentation embraces a colorful fantasy style that blends nostalgic influences with modern production techniques. Character animations are fluid during combat, while cinematic cutscenes and full voice acting help deliver important story moments with greater impact. The soundtrack complements both peaceful exploration and intense battles, creating a consistent atmosphere throughout the adventure. Although the project is created by a solo developer, the level of polish found in its presentation reflects considerable dedication, particularly in the way the game balances storytelling with action-oriented gameplay. As an Early Access title, Carter's Quest currently offers only the first chapter of what is intended to become a much larger adventure. Even so, the available content succeeds in introducing its combat mechanics, world-building, and central narrative while providing a glimpse of the ambitious scope planned for future updates. The roadmap promises additional chapters, expanded regions to explore, new gameplay systems, and continued refinements based on community feedback. Players should understand that the story remains incomplete, but the existing content establishes a promising framework that leaves plenty of room for growth. REAL WEB LEGENDS: Carter's Quest stands out because it demonstrates a clear vision and genuine passion for classic action RPG design. Its combination of responsive combat, rewarding exploration, intriguing lore, and memorable fantasy setting creates an enjoyable experience despite its unfinished status. While some players may prefer waiting for the complete release, those interested in supporting an ambitious independent project will find a solid introduction to a world with significant potential. If future updates successfully build upon the strong gameplay foundation and continue expanding the narrative with the same level of care, this could develop into a highly rewarding action RPG that appeals to fans of both traditional fantasy adventures and stylish character-action games.
