The more you draw from the barrel of games, the more likely you are to come across something unpleasant from the bottom of the barrel. And if you lift the barrel a little bit to look under it into the space full of yucky stuff and creepy crawlies that live in the dark and mud you'll find games like N.P.P.D. RUSH. The game is a top-down shooter / bullet hell shooter / twin-stick shooter. Btw... there's no controller support. Who'd want to play a twin-stick shooter with the only input device that actually has sticks (two of them at that) anyway? The evaluation of games often comes down to individual taste but some things can be objectively good or bad. Graphics for example. To me the game looks like someone vomited random shapes and colors all over my screen but someone else might find it visually appealing. Objectively bad is the fact that in this case the visual design stands in the way of gameplay. It is impossible to distinguish between obstacles and floor design, everything looks completely flat and could be walls, decorative floor elements, something else... who knows? You'll find out when you look at the game over screen (again) after you got stuck on something (again). For a game that demands quick reflexes this is a serious flaw. Sometimes you just die, even though you weren't hit by enemy projectiles, from something that's probably supposed to be an air strike. Remember those special abilities in other shoot 'em ups that kill everything on screen at the push of a button? Now you know how your enemies feel in these games, no matter where they move or what they do they will inevitably die when you push that button. But you don't even have to play the game to get frustrated, even start screen and menu are designed in an incredibly inane fashion. The start screen gives you two options: Start the game and open the main menu ("config"). So far so ordinary. But how do you select one of these options when mouse and arrow keys don't work? The game doesn't tell you. The mouse works well in the big black borders to the left and right of the screen but inside the game screen itself where it would matter the mouse cursor just disappears. I guess you just have to try a couple of keys, find out that esc unceremoniously closes the game, until you discover that the A and D keys let you highlight one of the options. What now? The enter key does nothing. Oh, NOW you have use the left mouse button? Another genius design choice developers. How do you mess up something so simple? Don't even bother with the options menu, it doesn't work anyway. I adjusted the volume (turned it way down) just to have the game reset it after a couple of seconds every time. Seems like the developer really doesn't want you to miss out on the music (some bland tune that repeats in a loop every couple of seconds). In my five star rating system N.P.P.D. RUSH gets ☆☆☆☆☆ 0/5 stars. Awful! I want to say "unplayable" but that would be incorrect. It's theoretically playable but why would anybody want to?
I'm reviewing Steam games in alphabetical order, and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/X8FjqBcbnSY Prefer to read? NPPD RUSH is an unapologetic game, with commitment to a retro 80's arcade aesthetic, and I have to give it some praise for having a vision and seeing it through. Unfortunately, the "game" part isn't fun at all. It's a top-down bullet-hell style shooter with 5 levels to complete and a time limit that can be extended by using money gained from defeated enemies. It's repetitive, has a very limited number of enemies and mechanics, the player perspective is too cramped, the movement too fast and the screen is obscured by visual effects and blood splatters most of the time, making it a nightmare to play. It's incredibly overpriced for what it offers, so I'd recommend avoiding this one unless you happen to enjoy this very specific niche of games.
Так нудотні сосни, Цю згубну безодню, Я живлюся молоком, ультрафіолетовим, Та пропав я з тобою, Мій плаваючий близнюк, Ти якір до водостоку, а я ключ до нічого. мммм наркоміня процвітає...
👍👍👍
It is frequently difficult to see and/or avoid projectiles due to the effects and limiting camera distance. The orange projectiles that target you will drain your health very fast - and with the prior mentioned issues, this will kill you often. This had potential but feels like it shot itself in the foot with several poor design choices.
It is absolutely impossible to understand what is happening on the screen and what the author was under when he was developing this
Trying to play feels like a farm maze with endless running and jumping, and my hero acts like he's on a treadmill with no settings. I just want to win and eat some cheese!
Запомните этого разработчика - Rail Slave Games. И никогда не подходите близко к его играм. В такое нельзя играть даже бесплатно. Даже если будут доплачивать.
Its ok
I honestly reviewed a lot of really bad games. Most of them are just from weird developers. This 'experience' was from 'Rail Slave Games'. It isn't the first one that I played from them. They have nine or so games here on steam. I've played three so far, all three we're bad. This one is the fourth one and it's just sad. It seems like this studio can't make games. Everything from them is just bad garbage. Nothing enjoyable to gain from this game. The milk of Ultra violet, what even is that? I honestly just can't recommend tis game. Wait, they want 4€ for this game? Really? This trash deserves a big negative review.
