About

Detective Michael Stone arrives in the small town of Pineview to assist the local police force with a seemingly simple case - A couple is found dead in their kitchen. The locals believe it to be a case of murder-suicide, their speculation fueled by rumors of the turbulent nature of the couple's relationship.
Is it just small-town gossip, or is there some truth to the rumors?
Help Detective Stone, assisted by the driven and empathetic Amy Blunt, discover the truth behind Chris and Diane's story. But be warned: the further he pursues the case, the more his own past shall come back to haunt him. And the closer his sanity will be pushed to the edge.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Some games end when the screen fades to black. Rainswept ends somewhere deeper. A quiet town. Endless rain. A case that feels less like a mystery and more like a confession. Beneath its gentle pixels lies a story soaked in grief, love, and the kind of sadness that doesn’t scream—it waits. You don’t just investigate deaths here. You sit with pain. You walk through silence. You feel the weight of words never spoken. The rain keeps falling, as if washing away nothing at all. Rainswept doesn’t hurt loudly. It hurts honestly. 🌧️🖤
A poignant story worth going through...
Bought this on a whim a while back when it was on sale and decided just recently to play it on a rainy day. A very atmospheric game, even with it's simple art and design. Interesting story without trying too hard. The scenic moments and music are very well done thought sometimes I wish the dialogue and character reactions were a little more polished. There are a few bugs here and there, like one NPC walking in the street and getting stuck on a street light and a character stuck in a conversation loop but otherwise the game is simple and playable. Some typos I noticed as well and the controls can be clunky, which could also use some polishing, something to keep in mind for future games if it hasn't already been worked on. I recommend this game if you're looking for a small escape and like solving mysteries.
Rainswept is one of the most memorable narrative experiences I’ve had in a game. As its description suggests, the influence of "Night in the Woods" is clearly evident, particularly in the city’s architecture and the way you explore a place that feels alive and inhabited. The game is worth playing above all for its soundtrack and story. This studio offers some of the best musical compositions I’ve heard in indie gaming. The soundscape, subtle yet ever-present, enhances the melancholy and deepens your attachment to the characters. On the other hand, don’t expect breathtaking graphics. That’s simply not the point. The minimalist, almost rudimentary appearance of the characters may come as a surprise, but it fades into the background behind the emotional power of the narrative.
Well written characters. Makes you feel like you really know them despite no voice acting. The art is fantastic and so is the music.
Rainswept is a narrative-focused adventure that proves a compelling mystery does not need relentless action or elaborate puzzles to leave a lasting impact. Developed and published by Frostwood Interactive, the game follows Detective Michael Stone as he arrives in the quiet town of Pineview to investigate the apparent murder-suicide of a young couple, Chris and Diane. While the case initially appears straightforward, the truth slowly emerges through conversations, memories, and hidden emotions, transforming what begins as a criminal investigation into an intimate exploration of love, loss, guilt, and healing. The story places human relationships at the forefront, ensuring that every revelation carries emotional significance rather than serving as a simple plot twist. The investigation unfolds at a deliberate pace, encouraging players to immerse themselves in Pineview's peaceful yet melancholic atmosphere. Detective Stone questions local residents, examines crime scenes, and gradually pieces together conflicting accounts surrounding the tragedy. Instead of focusing solely on evidence gathering, the narrative explores how every individual interprets events differently based on personal experiences and emotions. Stone himself is more than an observer, as his own troubled past subtly intertwines with the investigation, giving the story an additional emotional layer. His personal struggles make him a believable protagonist whose journey becomes just as meaningful as uncovering the truth behind the case. One of the game's strongest storytelling techniques is allowing players to witness Chris and Diane's relationship through playable flashbacks. Rather than presenting the victims as distant figures, Rainswept gives players the opportunity to experience the important moments that shaped their lives together. Their romance develops naturally, revealing both joyful memories and painful conflicts that ultimately contribute to the heartbreaking mystery. These sequences create genuine empathy for the characters, making the investigation feel deeply personal instead of simply procedural. As the past and present gradually connect, the emotional impact grows stronger with every chapter. The visual presentation embraces a minimalist pixel art style that perfectly complements the game's somber atmosphere. Constant rainfall blankets Pineview, turning the quiet streets, forests, and buildings into memorable settings filled with loneliness and reflection. Although the graphics are intentionally simple, careful lighting, expressive character portraits, and thoughtful environmental details successfully convey mood and personality. The soundtrack further enhances every scene with gentle piano melodies and ambient compositions that reinforce both the mystery and the emotional weight of the narrative. Together, the visuals and music establish a consistently immersive experience that remains effective from beginning to end. Gameplay is intentionally uncomplicated, emphasizing exploration, dialogue, and storytelling over mechanical complexity. Players spend most of their time moving between locations, speaking with townspeople, and progressing the investigation through observation and conversation. Those expecting intricate detective mechanics or challenging puzzles may find the gameplay somewhat limited, but this streamlined design allows the narrative to remain the primary focus. Every interaction feels purposeful, encouraging players to pay close attention to character motivations and emotional nuances instead of searching for difficult gameplay challenges. Rainswept also deserves recognition for its respectful handling of mature themes. It addresses depression, trauma, suicide, emotional abuse, and grief with sincerity rather than sensationalism, presenting difficult subjects through compassionate storytelling. The narrative avoids easy answers, instead encouraging reflection on how emotional wounds affect both individuals and the people around them. Moments of warmth and lighthearted conversation occasionally break through the heavier themes, preventing the experience from becoming overwhelmingly bleak while preserving its emotional authenticity. By the conclusion, the game delivers not only a satisfying mystery but also a thoughtful meditation on forgiveness, acceptance, and the possibility of moving forward after profound loss. While its slow pacing and minimal gameplay mechanics may not satisfy players seeking action-heavy adventures, Rainswept excels as an emotionally driven narrative experience. Its memorable characters, carefully written dialogue, atmospheric presentation, and heartfelt storytelling combine to create a mystery that lingers long after the credits roll. Rather than relying on shocking twists alone, it succeeds by making players genuinely care about the people involved and the circumstances that shaped their lives. For anyone who appreciates story-rich adventure games with meaningful emotional depth, Rainswept stands as a rewarding and unforgettable journey. Rating: 8/10
