Raiders of the North Sea

Great port of a great board game. This is a perfect intro to modern board games because it features key mechanics like worker placement and still has combat.

Discovered this game as part of the Humble Bundle board games bundle. You command a viking tribe and have to build up your raiding party by amassing silver and provisions. By raiding settlements, you can bring in gold, iron and livestock. The different warriors all have their own special abilities (not all related to combat). There is a 10 mission campaign, which gradually introduces the different characters and rules. You can then play against the AI, or friends online or pass and play. You can build up your ranking by completing other tasks during a game (some of these are also the achievements). It's great fun to learn and work out your favourite characters and combinations.

This is an awesome game... no doubts. Only played it single player though. A bit hard to beat it on hardest level, Ragnarok, not too hard to beat it on normal... But where is the multiplayer community.? Seems like a gem of a game, imagening the board game must have been a great hit. And seems well done... (board games are of course limited by eventually figuring out the tacticts). Now I just need online competitors...Which is lacking as it seems it hasnt caught on too much. Still as a single player puzzle game I had 5 nice hours.Up to you to figure out if the price is worth it... But starting to like this company... Did they also make Dune? Another awesome game which actually has a huge multiplayer community...

Well done! The game has a high enough interaction level that it would be worth buying for the table with live people rather than solo play on the computer.

Runs smoothly and the loop is fun

I mean, its good. I love Shem Phillips games. I own a ton of them IRL. But any board game that doesn't have remote play together sucks and is basically saying you need 4 copies of the board game or what ever for everyone to play. thumbs down for that alone.

i'd heard about this board game, but it's kinda hard to find. this is a great implementation of it on steam!

Came here after playing Raiders of Scythia, the reimplemented board game of RotNS. This is my go-to alternative whenever I feel too lazy to set up the physical board game.
