This game is mostly abandoned and what little is there isn't worth your money. Read the latest dev updates and if you still go ahead and buy it make sure you set a timer so you can refund with < 2 hours.
I love the game, I love the idea of the game, I love the setting of the game, I love a lot of the concepts of the game. If the (solo) dev had worked with a team, or sold the game to a studio, or kept up support, I believe it could've been great. The vestiges of greatness are there, but it's clear the game still needs a lot of love to even become a cult classic. It breaks my heart, but that's I can't recommend it.
Abandoned
Unfinished EA plague
While the game does have a very cool unique look and the sound design and tons of jokes... thats about where the good ends. Your every moment will be spent looking for food primarily mushrooms to keep your colony alive. Any fight will bring you to your knees as most challenges and every pc outside a challenge are scaled to kill. World events will slowly run you down unless youre able to spend influence which you get with the previously mentioned challenges. My strongest character that I invested heavily into died of hunger standing right next to a guy carrying a backpack full of food. The game auto saves which you can turn off in the settings but risk not saving enough. And the auto saving usually puts you in a position when its far too late to save someone. There is task priority like harvesting over crafting etc but its only about marked tasks. And every collection task such as fetch mushrooms resets every phase change. 3 per day. So youre stuck in an infinite loop of tasking a forager to pick mushrooms. There's little useful guides past starting. The tech in the research tree doesnt tell you what will get unlocked later so its a bit of a guessing game in where to spend your time. I cant stress enough how devastating it is to lose your only unit that can mine stone and iron because it takes a special skill point to u lock the ability which you only get once. You cant really start the game unless you do choose a supply pack as a started since all crafting benches require stone. There's rarely stone on the map. I really want to see what this game is like beyond where im at right now. But I cant spend another 6 hours trying to do this again from scratch just because 1 unit died. You can alt f4 after any bad event which you should as it avoids auto saving which happens when you quit the game. I find myself f4ing each time some dumb AI starts a fight passing by a bad npc at night or passing a scorpion or a fly at my poop and is now killing the colony. There's no way you can predict any of these events or actively avoid them. Much like the water and food supply running out. So you either quit and load back repeatedly or you stop playing after a bit. It has a lot of charm but to unlock it you have to spend days at your pc micro managing every action just to avoid colony wipe. This isnt a colony Sim... its a masochist heaven.

8/10 If you want to lose yourself for hours on end, this survival simulator will keep you engaged, with 100's of different possibilities. There is events that happen daily that can benefit your clones (name of survivalists) or kill them. Each event keeps you on your toes as you try to survive day to day operations. The game is not designed for you to live forever, it is made to enjoy the journey. You will get multiple planets to survive on, so if you decide to play just let it all play out and if you lose, learn from it and move to next planet, which you will unlock by surviving X amount of days on the prior planet. Couple downsides would be you can't tell your survivors to heal themselves or a couple other tasks, you can assign a priority to it, but they do it on their own time, though most of the time if they are hurt they will, but if their poisoned or bleeding they could wait too late and die due to this. And buildings can be a little annoying as sometimes they get stuck in furniture and you will have to remove one piece so they can get out, EX: when you make a room for a survivor it needs a chair, table and bed, they will try to relax on chair and get stuck if room is small (again only sometimes). Overall game is worth it! Fully have enjoyed this game, its chill enough to enjoy, but the twists will always keep you on your toes.
The game has a lot going for it! Difficult to get a grip on at first but quickly gets a lot better when you figure out the systems
