Recommending this as an art project. It looks pretty good, I liked the dialogue and general story beats, even if it's not setting new benchmarks everyhwere. The fighting is fun, but quite repetitive. If you see the trailers or pieces of gameplay you will know if the vibe of the game fits you. What did bother me were the text dumps of about 7 files at once, where the narrative game becomes a bundle of short stories. They do add flavor, but not to the extent to stall the experience for a substantial time. Then the real life movies felt out of place, because there was nothing in them which couldn't have been solved in-engine. First episode was buffering like mad, and all of them had horrifiying judder. And characters pressuring you to continue while you read something is also a weird mistake. And exclusive fullscreen with vsync was the only thing to make it smooth running. The generally recommended reshade lumen mods broke framepacing badly.
Classic Remedy story and the Gameplay is decent; Uncharted gunplay with Time powers. If you love the amazing stories Remedy has then this is absolutely a must buy,

This is a decent shooter with time manipulation powers and an action show stapled on. Gameplay is great if you're looking for a power fantasy in a shooter format. Jack, despite not being a part of a military group, can completely chew through waves of trained forces, and that's before you unlock all his powers. You've got plenty of time based tools to help you mow down enemies like bullet time, freezing people in place, and stopping time around you like a shield. The narrative is also decently done for a time travel story full of some of the staples you'd expect. Along side the story told through the events of the game there are episodes of a companion show and collectibles that add to it. The show portion incorporates major decisions you make as well as nods to little interactions points throughout the level. It sounds ambitious, but in reality it's like watching an episode of a show in between your sessions of gameplay. The collectibles also add some background information and interactions, but some of them are massive walls of text, and some are really just a gag. By the end I was skimming through them because it felt like they were trying to cram a visual novel on top of a show into this game.
Quantum break feels like a technical marvel for its time. It really surprised me that the live action segments are actually streamed to save space..... The game size is 68GB. It's way too big for 2016 game. There are a lot of bugs for the chronon particles which makes it impossible to collect them which you need to upgrade your powers. Combat is serviceable, as it starts off fun but later becomes very bland because of the same enemy types with the addition of bullet sponges. Story is interesting and I liked the idea of mixing live action with gameplay, all praise to the devs at Remedy. Overall its a okaying game which had some potential to be something big. Pick it up during sale, it's kinda cheap.
