wonderful game for everyone
It was a long time coming for this sequel, and the wait was worth it and then some! Everything great about the first game is here, with the addition of a greater world and expanded topics of psychology that is both bold and extremely well handled! If the story somehow didn't grip you before, it absolutely will with this installment!
amazing
It's a great game, a really fun platformer with fantastic art and an entertaining story. If you played the first game and liked it, this one is great. And if you didn't play the first one, this one will definitely make you want to play it.
All the reviews are right - this is one of the best platformers made…style of first few levels was not my jam but all subsequent were awesome.
Really glad they Double Fine came back and gave us a satisfying conclusion to this psychedelic story.
In most ways an improvement while I do still love the original I definitely think this one is significantly better. I'll get the downsides out of the way immediately because there are so few. This went a little too far in removing unique gameplay elements from individual levels and we're essentially left with almost nothing albeit there is still not a single generic level here. The first one has a kaiju level this one you roll on a massive bowling ball. This is less fresh than the original and in most ways upgrades things that needed it without bringing a huge number of things that are nothing like the original to the table. I understand some might feel that the difficulty has overall been lowered too much but I would remind you that technically in this game if you are finding it way too easy you can just make things more difficult for yourself for example if you're up against an enemy that you can only defeat fully with ranged attacks then try to use melee as much as you can. Controls graphics and level length has been tremendously improved. Where the 1st used a bunch of level specific enemies this one fully builds out the ones that you can fight throughout which means that by the end there are a lot of them and they have to be fought in very different ways and you may face a bunch of them all at the same time. I hope they do make a third one but if they don't this is a great way to finish it off. Absolutely loved all the lore and plot and I felt like they did enough with those as with most other things in changing just enough but also leaving things so similar that it doesn't feel alienating. 4/5
