재미가 없진 않은데... 뭔가 미묘한듯 캠페인은 스토리도 딱히 없고 그냥 웰시코기가 귀여웠음.
A very cute game that has a slight difficulty curve, but if you have played shoot 'em ups before it won't be much trouble to start clearing the game. Though, the good ending requires way too many steps in my opinion (Hate the absorb bullets requirement). I would have loved a bit more variety on runs, besides the secret levels that require more intricate ways to unlock, but overall it offers a couple of hours of fun for the price. Plus, Bullet is cute <3 Edit: After finishing the two normal endings, I can't find it in me to try the best ending. Runs take far too much to reach the first secret boss and one mistake means you basically can't get it (At least in my 3 full attempts). Tried my best for Bullet, it was a fun time.
You didn't have to go this hard with the soundtrack... and here we are! The game is amazing and I'm kind of sad it's short. I just wish I could learn a little more about the lore

This was a really fun time through. In a time where a lot of games can feel like massive time investments, there is the humble Protocorgi. About 4 hours to get the true ending for me, but it was really evocative of a time going out to an arcade, and puzzling one consistent path through the game. For the low asking price, it's impossible to say I felt like any time or money was wasted! I ran through the game on my Youtube Channel for an LP, so have a look for Flawless Walrus if you want to see what the game's like!
ProtoCorgi, developed by Kemono Games and published by Ravenscourt, is a vibrant side-scrolling shoot ’em up that manages to combine old-school arcade intensity with a playful, modern identity. At first glance, its premise sounds delightfully absurd: you control Bullet, a cybernetically enhanced corgi armed to the teeth, on a mission to rescue his kidnapped owner from alien forces. Beneath that charming exterior, however, lies a mechanically rich and carefully tuned shooter that demonstrates a deep appreciation for genre fundamentals while layering on creative twists. The core gameplay follows the traditional horizontal shmup formula—navigate tightly designed stages, dodge waves of projectiles, eliminate enemy formations, and survive elaborate boss encounters. What sets ProtoCorgi apart is the responsiveness and clarity of its controls. Movement feels precise and immediate, making tight dodges and last-second escapes satisfying rather than frustrating. The hitboxes are fair, enemy patterns are readable, and each encounter rewards careful positioning. It strikes a balance between accessibility and challenge, allowing newcomers to grasp the basics while still providing the intensity that genre veterans expect. A defining feature of the game is its weapon customization system. Players can experiment with a wide variety of weapon combinations that alter both offensive strategy and playstyle. Different loadouts affect firing patterns, spread, power, and defensive options, encouraging experimentation to find combinations that suit individual preferences. This flexibility keeps the gameplay from becoming repetitive and gives players agency in how they approach each stage. The inclusion of hidden abilities and alternate firing modes further deepens the experience, rewarding those who take time to explore the mechanics beyond the surface level. Difficulty scaling is handled with notable care. Rather than simply inflating enemy health or damage numbers, higher difficulty modes introduce new enemy behaviors and more complex projectile patterns. This ensures that replaying the campaign at tougher settings feels meaningfully different rather than artificially punishing. From approachable beginner modes to punishingly intense options designed for hardcore players, ProtoCorgi offers a range of challenges that cater to varying skill levels. This layered difficulty design significantly enhances replay value and encourages players to refine their mastery over time. Visually, the game embraces colorful pixel art that pays homage to classic arcade shooters while maintaining a distinct personality. Character sprites are expressive, environments are varied, and enemy designs range from robotic swarms to bizarre alien constructs. Boss fights are particularly memorable, often featuring multi-phase patterns that demand adaptation and precision. The vibrant aesthetic contrasts humorously with the intensity of the action, creating an experience that feels both chaotic and endearing. Complementing the visuals is an energetic soundtrack that reinforces the pacing of each stage, driving momentum forward during high-stakes moments. Beyond the main campaign, ProtoCorgi expands its longevity through additional modes and creative tools. The inclusion of ProtoCorgi Maker, a level editor that allows players to design and share custom stages, significantly broadens the game’s scope. Community-created content introduces fresh challenges and showcases the creativity of the player base. Online leaderboards add a competitive element, motivating high-score chasers to optimize runs and shave seconds off completion times. Training modes and gameplay modifiers provide further opportunities to refine skills or experience stages in new ways. While the main campaign itself is relatively concise, its compact design ensures tight pacing with minimal filler. Each level introduces new challenges without overstaying its welcome. The focused length works in the game’s favor, especially when combined with the replay-driven structure. Some players may wish for a longer core story, but the depth provided by customization, difficulty modes, and user-generated content compensates for the shorter initial run. Ultimately, ProtoCorgi succeeds because it fully commits to its concept while delivering solid mechanical depth. It embraces its whimsical premise without sacrificing gameplay integrity, resulting in a shooter that feels both charming and technically satisfying. For fans of classic arcade-style shoot ’em ups, it offers a polished and replayable experience that rewards skill development. For newcomers drawn in by its adorable protagonist and vibrant presentation, it provides an accessible entry point into a demanding genre. The combination of tight design, creative customization, and community-driven longevity makes ProtoCorgi a standout indie shooter that balances lighthearted personality with serious arcade credibility.
