About

GO ON AN ADVENTURE
Project: Gorgon is a 3D fantasy MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) featuring an immersive experience that allows the player to forge their own path through exploration and discovery. We don't guide you through a world on rails, and as a result, there are many hidden secrets awaiting discovery. Project: Gorgon also features an ambitious skill-based leveling system that bucks the current trend of pre-determined classes, allowing the player to combine skills in order to create a truly unique playing experience.
DEEP DEMO!
Not sure if an exploration-centric MMO is for you? Try the free demo! (See link above.) The demo lets you explore a large part of the game and learn dozens of skills. Your demo character will be capped at level 15 in each skill you learn. When you purchase the game, you'll keep your demo character and all restrictions will be lifted.
AN IMMERSIVE WORLD
When you play Project: Gorgon, we want you to feel as if you’re immersed in a whole new virtual world. Rather than trying to manage this with just graphics and excessive backstory, we’ve designed the game with dozens of gameplay features that make you feel like you’re really there interacting with the world, such as:
Each non-player (NPC) you meet has their own goals and interest, and reward players that choose to be their friend.
Shopkeepers keep inventory, so you can buy items that other players have sold to them. Want to help out new players? Sell your cast-off items to the shopkeeper in the new player zone and watch the new players go to town.
If you are on fire, you can jump into a lake to put it out. This type of mechanic can have a subtle effect on your strategies, especially when you are fighting a fire mage!
You can inscribe messages onto items, write books, and even leave notes for other players. Make your name as an in-game poet, or pronounce your greatness to the world!
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES
In Project: Gorgon you kill monsters - a lot of them - and you take their loot. In order to keep the experience fun and interesting, we’ve developed unique combat experiences to keep the fights feeling fresh. The loot is randomly generated, monsters have unique abilities, and dungeons have puzzles, traps, and terrifying bosses! The combat skills are entirely free-form. You can learn as many combat skills as you want, and use any two of them at the same time to create your own personal “class.” Project: Gorgon features dozens to choose from, including:
Battle Chemistry: Create huge explosions, inject yourself with mysterious mutagens or program a pet golem!
Unarmed Combat: Grapple and control enemies using a situational-aware combo system that varies based on where you are and what day it is.
Animal Handling: Tame animals and train them to become ferocious fighters. Then breed your best and sell their offspring to other players.
Necromancy: Seek out corpses and graveyards to raise an undead army. No graveyard around? Well, there are always the corpses of your friends.
Cow: Got turned into a cow by that boss? That sucks. But learn some kicks and how to stampede, and you'll be right back out there kicking grass in no time!
That’s just a few! There’s also Sword Fighting, Combat Psychology, Staff Fighting, Sigil Scripting, Mentalism, and more.
Player Choices are important in Project: Gorgon. You can learn as many skills as you want, but sometimes power comes with downsides. You can become infected with lycanthropy and gain access to very powerful skill sets. As a lycanthrope, you are able to roam the world in a pack or as a lone wolf; however, when there is a full moon (which is tied to the real-world lunar calendar) you are stuck in your beast form. There’s no cure for lycanthropy.
You can become a Druid, which will give you great power, but you have to vow to drop everything when there’s an emergency involving nature. It could be a forest fire, a monster invasion or even a pesky insect. Nature never lets you ignore your duties, ever.
New opportunities come open, but others will close. Can you bear heavy burdens in exchange for greater power?

Best old school MMO that is out there by a mile. Anyone that was hoping for Pantheon or MnM to be good should be playing this instead. There's a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning but after it's a great experience.
a bit janky (compliment) and probably helps if you already enjoy the idea of a lower stakes mmo that's fairly chill. Just take things easy and have a fun time doing whatever the heck you wanna do. It's not a perfect game and it isn't trying to be, this is the kind of mmo that you'd have expected to see out of like 2005, slower paced, community centric, completely unconcerned with rushing you into endgame metrics, and most importantly, there are no wrong choices This is a strange game to be sure, but it's got a lot of heart to it and seems like it's designed from the ground up to just be for people that don't shy away from classic mmo jank who are also willing to have some patience. It seems explicitly designed for exactly the audience it wants to cater to and no one else (also a compliment) Do not approach this game thinking you're going to get a WoW or FF14-like experience. This is slow and methodical, relax and enjoy the fun ride with a surprisingly nice and helpful community! basically a 10/10 game where you can choose to allow yourself to be cursed into a cow and simply continue to play as a cow from that point forward, and it's a viable playstyle?????? nice???? coool!?? HELL YEAH EVEN?!!??!

miserable grinding just to grind
This is the game I was looking for! Very friendly community. The game has a learning curve but the community is great about answering questions, helping with gear, quests or bosses. Very big world with tons to do. You’re not locked to classes so you can pick and choose/start a new class at anytime though I’ve heard some choices are permanent (no spoilers, sorry). I no longer plan on getting GTA. This is the game.
Enjoyable. It is definitely old school in that to unlock some of what you call basic things in even some old considered mmos; certain crafting skills, some combat skills, even what might be basic functionality, require putting in effort and grinding, possibly even group content. That said, there is a playable game there without, but it is an MMO, and it does expect cooperation to experience the breadth of content. I rate the necromancy a 7/10 You can have a few minions, but not a ton, but a standard basic array of damage caster, melee fighter, ranged combatant. Gear is a bit harder to get the necromancer aesthetic. On the plus side, the minions improve, and the gear has customizability in regards to how you boost your skills, further you have options on your second whole combat skill you pick to have a variety of options, from melee, to support, to pet, to blaster. Further to summon minions you need to do things in graveyard late at night, so that's cool. I enjoy playing the necromancer, but feel like there could be more in the realm of, 1 much better minion. Raising minions from enemies more, and better minion management, which seems to be the domain of other pet classes to do better.
An interesting game with a lot of variety due to skills, maps, quests etc. Has the classic mmo experience. The community have been mostly wonderful and helpful. Unfortunately, in contrast the latter half of the game is about creating as much friction for the player as possible rather than an enjoyable set of progression. It makes you miserable and everyone else the same way. The recent set of patches have been adding more content but, has only made this problem worse.
Fun premise, maybe for 100 hours. Game had potential for organic community interaction, but the game is bleeding 40% players a month, no server merges, even when the pop is around 100 on average, wich is nowhere near enough. Without players inventory gets more constrained, and items are anything but liquid, "i could have fun solo" i thought, but even with mules you're looking at inventory manager simulator for 50% of your time. Also is a medieval fantasy but somehow the main hub is an inmersion breaking casino, with daily quest that invalidates all the "do what you want and enjoy the world" as anything else is extremly subpar in making money, wich you absolutely need to progress your class skills. Fun if you played at release, right now i would hard pass on it.
A fun, super deep, old-school, world exploring MMO.
Very addictive, well made open world game with 100s of paths to take. Be what you want- human, elf, fairy, wolf, cow, fox, bat, pig, rabbit, spider, deer. Pick from 30+ combat skills and 100+ sub skills. So many choices. I will be playing this game for a long time! Runs great on Mac too. So happy I found this game. Highly recommend.
First MMO to draw me in years - highly recommend
