Unmaintained since Jan 2, 2020 and still has a hideously difficult and bad user interface. This game could really use some improvements to make it future-proof.
When we get a Production Line 2?
An absolute great idea and mechanics, tarred by a horrendous UI and steep learning curve.
Tricky one to review. The underlying game is actually very good and the early-mid gameplay loop is excellent with upgrades to the equipment, research and so on. Where the game fails is in the mid-late part, the UI is too clunky to handle that much info on the screen, upgrades require effectively a total retooling of the production line and there is no easy way to do it especially if you are splitting it into parallel parts to improve throughput. It is a shame the UI clutter was not resolved over time. This would have taken this game from great to excellent. The beginning of the game is highly optimised, later game is not. If you wonder why you can't get things done well in the game, all you need to remember is it is not your problem. Despite all that, I find it hard not to recommend this game for the sheer ambition it showed.
UI has issues. Basic functionality like conveyer cant figure out proper direction or joining. Menus are confusing.
It's kinda fun, gets boring kind of quickly after you have figured it out. They don't seem to be maintaining the game anymore and it's not the best UI. It has a steep learning curve and i feel that the AI companies ramp up too quickly but overall the game is prettty decent, I have logged over 400hrs playing it so i cannot say i hadn't enjoyed it.
I am too dumb for these kinds of games. But I love them. The game works fine. Its balanced and there is lots of content. Seems like a polished production to me. If any one thinks other wise, feel free to use the Steam workshop. It could save you a bit of money. enoy!
Overall this is a strong recommend for people who like supply chain or factory management games. The Good: It's complex and balances economics and opportunity costs quite well Gameplay is fairly intuitive and matches real life in most aspects of supply chain The Bad: $25 for a game that hasn't gotten an update in years is quite steep, even as a full retail price No updates means that there may be better options out there for your dollar, though this is still a decent purchase
Combines factory optimization with business management. Loads of fun if you like these kinds of management and optimization games.
Alot of fun, I work in automotive manufacturing and its like the real thing just with less lazy people
