Power-Up

Power-Up is a 2D side scrolling arcade shootemup/bullet hell game. You have a choice of weapons to use as you play, which is a nice addition, and part of the gameplay as enemies attack from different vectors. The game supports high resolutions and uses full screen properly. Unfortunately there's a couple of problems. The look-and-feel is a bit sluggish and unsatisfying, and the controls can't be remapped. The default controls aren't very sensible, either, which makes the game awkward to play.

⚡️ PowerUp – 2,800 Hours Later, and I’m Officially a Living Disaster 💥🎮 I thought I was just playing a game. Now, I’m convinced PowerUp is a dark force that slowly consumes your soul—and your calendar. I missed my own birthday because I was chasing a high score. My partner left a note on the fridge that said, “If PowerUp wins, so do I.” I responded with a blurry screenshot and a promise to quit… which lasted exactly 47 seconds. 🍕 My diet now consists mainly of cold pizza and whatever caffeine I can grab. Once, I spilled an entire coffee on my laptop trying to clutch a victory. Laptop died. Game saved. Me? Crying. 📞 Phone calls go unanswered. Friends? Ghosted. My dog? Stares at me like I’m a sad creature stuck in a loop of explosions and power-ups. 🌙 Nights blur into mornings as I whisper, “Just one more level,” while my eyes burn, my back aches, and my soul screams for mercy. I’ve developed an irrational fear of boss fights—and a compulsive need to collect every power-up like my life depends on it. 🪑 My chair creaks ominously, threatening to collapse under the weight of my addiction and regret. My reflection looks tired. My thumbs look like they’ve been through a war. 🔥 Final verdict: PowerUp didn’t just consume my time—it devoured my life, my sanity, and possibly my last shred of dignity. But if loving chaos is wrong, I don’t want to be right. 10/10 – Would happily ruin my existence again.
