Poptropica

I love Poptropica with my whole heart, but this is ridiculous. Most of the old islands are gone, there is no option for full screen, and it does not keep you logged in. Until these things are taken care of and the old islands are returned, I won't play it. Not worth $20 at all.

please read the store description. this was one of my defining childhood games but no fullscreen, game breaking bugs on almost every island, and not even half the original flash islands for twenty dollars is criminal. PLEASE add counterfeit, reality tv, steamworks, cryptids, and vampire's curse! and with no updates for nearly two years I can't recommend this :(

Missing many of the old islands, useless purchase

Has been my comfort game for 12 years now. Never gets old. More importantly, to anybody wondering "where the old islands are", please, look into downloading Flashpoint Infinity. It's an archival software for all games that ran on Adobe Flashplayer before it shut down. Poptropica is on there too, you just need to follow a guide on how to get it working. Look it up on the Poptropica Help Blog. There are many other resources that provide information for this, too.

It doesn't have a lot of the original islands and you can't play it full screen no matter how much you tinker and try, you are better of saving your money and downloading Flashpoint where you can play the game for free in all it's original glory or if you are like me and still have your DS and 3DS those game cards are still available. The game itself lags too and glitches out if you are running to fast. And you can't screen grab everyone and anyone's clothes either! It's just all bad! I spent $20 on this non-nostalgic, broken ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Abandoned with no updates, wild charging this much with almost none of the og islands

I wish there was a way to post a neutral review instead of strictly thumbs-up or thumbs-down, because that's truly how I feel about this game. Unfortunately, this is not the Poptropica that most people who grew up with the game will remember. There are only 17 islands, which were the "new" islands that were written in a different code from the originals that ran on Flash. While some of the older islands (24 Carrot, Time Travel, Mythology, etc) were preserved in this format and are playable on the Steam version, the vast majority of what the average player would be nostalgic for is completely removed. Additionally, it has been confirmed that at least one island (Mythology) was simplified and shortened, so it's not even the original experience you would expect while playing it. It is incredibly disappointing that despite being launched through Steam, there are zero functional social features present in the game. No Steam achievements correlating to in-game progress, the common areas you used to be able to meet up with your friends in (there isn't even an in-game friends list anymore!) don't work, no mini games, etc. Despite this, for whatever reason, the game requires you to be online/be on wifi in order to play it even if it is already installed to your computer. Almost all of the previous cosmetic items that were available to purchase in the in-game store are gone. There are, however, cosmetic items available that are themed after islands WE CAN'T PLAY. Additionally, some of the cosmetic items don't layer correctly (there are multiple skirts that you can see your character's legs through). Despite all of this, I'm glad that even this small portion of the game has been preserved and is still playable. I love that you can log in with your old/childhood accounts and they still work! The islands that ARE in the game have zero bugs (at least that I've encountered), and as a Mac user, it honestly shocked me that the game runs as smoothly as it does. If you would like to play through the more "modern" era of the game, I would recommend this game wholeheartedly if you can get it on sale (seriously, $20 for an incomplete game is insane). But for anyone who wants to play the 30+ islands and mini adventures that are missing... I'd just download Flashpoint instead.

the other reviews are right, a real letdown if you want the Poptropica you remember, search "Flashpoint Poptropica" on google, it has everything you remember, but its a little buggy atm, as of 9/1/2026

You need to bring back wild west. Spent 20 dollars just to play wild west and get a horse and find gold and to get the cattle in the fence and all that like back in the day. Wont be playing until its back.

I was introduced to Poptropica because I missed a field trip to Pioneer Village in grade three. I was placed in another class, and a couple of the students there introduced me to Poptropica. Those guys were super cool, but I unfortunately moved schools a week after, and from there, I introduced my new class to the game. I swear, this game was hella fun during computer labs. Back then, I didn't have access to a TV or gaming consoles, so I poured what felt like hundreds of hours into this game when I had access to our computer or a computer. I poured so many hours that I made a second account for replayability.  I've now forgotten the password to that account, but I can't believe I still remember my main account from 2010! At one point, I had almost every island in the game completed.  This game is special and is tied up in major childhood memories and activities; I can remember every island I played on and whose house I was at when I played it, like Big Nate Island at David's house. Wimpy Kid and Red Dragon islands at Amissa's house. Wild West at Marquise's house. Skullduggery Island in computer labs and playing Astro Knights Island before I went to Toys a Rus to buy my nephew's bed with his dad, lol. He's now 14... Like I said before, I poured hundreds of hours into this game up until middle school,  from early 2010 - to early 2014. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Poptropica in its current state as it is a shell of its former self. The game now costs money and runs on a different engine. Half, if not most, of the OG islands are gone, and the game behaves and feels completely different from what I loved and grew up with. But the biggest stain of all was my medals vanishing from my account despite the game indicating that I completed Islands. I think I finished about 30 - 36 islands the last time I played, and It's sad having nothing to show for it after being away for so long.  I know you can't  advertise ads on Steam in your games, but this game just feels like a crash grab, especially with it costing $20+ in price. The iconic login screen is gone, and the games are only playable in windowed, despite looking 10x better cropped in browsers with the iconic vines and blue theme. All in all, this game has lost its identity
