This is a decent, well-made card roguelike. You can play through several games with great interest. It also has a pleasant, harmonious design. Although it plays more like those backpack-type roguelikes than poker. Only here, instead of a backpack, you assemble a deck and chips before the battle. Poker here works only in that synergy bonuses are applied according to poker rules: the higher the poker hand, the higher the bonuses (multiplier for HP and Attack). Cards, depending on the suits, have classes, such as defender (high HP, low DPS), rogue (high DPS, low HP), archer (high DPS, average HP), mage (average DPS and HP, but there are AoE and effects like "stun" i.e. skipping a turn after hit) Chips provide bonuses to various things, such as additional stats for a certain combination of cards, additional attack, healing, shields, or buffs combined with debuffs. There are also some OP chips and some not so useful chips, there are synergy chips, but the synergy is not very strong for chips in general (unlike poker hand). A higher poker hand is stronger than any synergistic combination of all the chips combined. Not to mention that in a given run you may simply not get chips that complement each other's bonuses. Therefore, in any run, the main goal is to get the highest poker hand and get the chip, which provides a barrier each turn (without it, it is even impossible to defeat certain bosses, which are random). Which makes some chips that complement a particular poker hand somewhat useless, except as a beginning or mid-run option. As well as boosting other hands, except the certain one, through card sacrifice. (btw, sacrificing of a poker hand with two characteristics, gives a bonus for only one of them) Basically, this creates a pattern for every run, instead of variability, but it's not that it's a big deal (the whole game would have to be rebalanced to change this). A drawback is the lack of metaprogression, other than unlocking other decks (there are few) and higher difficulty levels (your cards simply have lower stats, while your opponent's cards have higher stats and using more chips). While the former can motivate repeat play, the latter is poorly motivating. I mean, the game is really fun, but it doesn't have a much of replayability. And by metaprogression, I don't mean some boring 1% damage bonus or anything like that. A poker hand progression (for example, based on how often you use or sacrifice them) would be perfect here. Give special effects, for example. Because when the hand only influences the multiplier, and is not generally utilized in any other way, the end goal of collecting the same strongest poker hand (highest multiplier) over and over again is pretty boring. The second drawback is that when choosing battles, you can often choose a "more difficult" battle with slightly increased rewards, but you can lose almost your entire deck without gaining any significant advantage (unique unlockable chips, for example, as a metaprogression or for a given run). To recover lost cards, you have to spend even more coins (sell other chips) than the "increased reward" provides. Basically, you don't lose anything by skipping these opportunities every run. Overall, the roguelike is quite fast, not too grindy and not too difficult, and can easily take several evenings to pass time. The technical condition is good. The only bug I encountered was a multiplier bug, which was sometimes applied, sometimes not, sometimes incorrectly. Similar issues arise when using a large number of chips. These can often be fixed simply by removing and replacing the same cards into the deck.
