This game WAS amazing, put in 40 hours in a week. WHY IN THE WORLD DID YOU NERF EVERYTHING. Add more levels don't make the game harder.
Bingle Bingle had promise, but I don't feel like it lived up to it. I bought the game in anticipation of full release, but after looking into it I don't think the 1.0 release will actually address the core of why the game didn't click for me. The crux of the problem, in my opinion, is how clunky everything feels... Just figuring out what you are upgrading and why is annoying. You can upgrade several different parts of the same token... and they are used for betting but they are also balls... and you have limited turns and you have to place bets and also play balls within the turns you have... none of it tracks with actual roulette. You can't bet on any number right out the bat; you can bet on colors or on lines. Why? The game needed some reason to upgrade your ability to bet... I guess. You can upgrade your balls, but they are tied to tokens... why? Those are different physical objects that aren't at all connected. You can upgrade tokens to make the bets different, and to increase amount, and also to select what order they come up... it just feels weird. You can use the top or bottom of a token... but tokens are just one thing... It is way too abstracted from actual gambling in a way that doesn't even serve the gameplay. During my first few runs I didn't understand how things interacted in general; at least once I bought an upgrade that overrided another one without realizing what I was doing, wasting tons of resources. I didn't know what counted as a special pocket, or if a pocket can have multiple bonuses on it, or really much of anything. Despite all that confusion I didn't find it very difficult. I tried to make the whole table red, and bet on red, and get multi balls to all land on red. Seemed to work well enough. At any rate, it didn't feel enjoyable to me. It didn't give the rush or the satisfaction of other gamble-like games I've loved. A shame really, because I thought it had real potential.
There's more there than I was thinking, but at the end of the day they failed to turn a game about RNG into a game about strategy. I've beat Isaac with the Lost, I've gone infinite in Balatro, but the end-end(?) boss of this game is only winnable with pure RNG giving you the most OP run of all time. You have to pay to disable his abilities, but they are random and the ones you can disable are random and you need cash so if aren't on a cash run good luck. And if he doesn't give you the option to disable the abilities that end your run, good luck. I wanted to like this, but the achievements are just annoying and every game is basically the same after a very short period of time. I probably got my monies worth, but I doubt I'll open the game again ever.
This game has huge potential, really fun gameplay loop. The problem? It's occasionally running like a slideshow presentation. Lagging, stuttering and needs a lot of work in that regard. The music is really repetitive, which doesn't help, it gets annoying quickly. It absolutely needs different soundtracks while playing (OR change the theme slightly like other games like Balatro). Do I recommend getting this game right now? Absolutely not. If it's running like this for me, it's gonna be just as bad for you. Does this game have potential and new content that isn't super repetitive? Yeah, i'd say so!! Other than that, the game is a lot of fun and the art style and animation is stunning. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this game, it's rather different than a lot of rogue-likes.
Yea, I dunno what it is, but the game just isn't as fun as I thought it'd be. It doesn't feel like there is any randomness to the game. The amount of times the wheel has landed on my number without anything attempting to encourage it to, is crazy in comparison to how Roulette normally plays out. Plus when you add the upgrades, and all the extras, the game is just a dull rinse repeat cycle that just doesn't work for some reason. I dunno if it's that there isn't enough turns/spins you can do(?) or what, but each round just feels far too short, then suddenly you are back at the shop. You will spend 90% of your time looking at the shop and upgrades window, and 10% of the time actually spinning the wheel and playing. It's just boring. It should be the other way around. They should have a higher amount of chips to achieve per round, and like 15 spins, not 5 on average. It simply feels like the wrong direction was chosen for gameplay. The game isn't "Bad," but it is just sort of boring and extremely repetitive. I'd rather be watching the ball spin around longer, with more actual randomness, then a guided experience the way the game is now. There is just too much in place to ensure the ball lands exactly where you want it to, which makes the idea of it being a roulette wheel irrelevant. PS: Things like the ice mechanic shouldn't exist, it's just dumb and further exasperates the above issues, drastically limiting where the ball can land. It's like the devs wanted to further shoot themselves in the foot after already doing so.
There is just way too much going on the second you start the tutorial. This isn't some deep strategy game, some big open world adventure, or even an action one with varying abilities, it's a "make numbers big so brain happy" gambling roguelike. I don't need 20 different things to effect how big the numbers are. The best in the genre (e.g Balatro, Cloverpit, Luck be a Landlord, etc) draw you in quick and teach you along the way. This is just a mess. Maybe it's incredible later but I sure as hell am not putting in the effort to find out.
I just dont get it. I love Balatro and a roulette Balatro would be sick but either im too stupid or everything is too confusing for me to get it.
I enjoy the game but I feel like the coins you get each round doesn't make much sense for how much the quota/blind increases by each round
I LOVE GAMBLING!!! i wish there was a little more variety other than the challenges but otherwise the mechanics are really interesting and it's definitely fun to mess around with different builds
Probably one of the most fun games, i enjoyed Balatro a lot, i think this is a lot more fun and challenging. Although i think badges could be a little cleaner possibly, but overall really fun game and i keep coming back for lots more.
