extremely clunky in terms of FPS and character animations, feels like a unfinished game you'd play if you were a beta tester for a very early version of such moral of the story: don't play this game on a high end pc, it was designed for toasters and it becomes super clunky if you use a powerful computer, the fps will become unstable at times and sprite animations go EXTREMELY fast
The physics make me want to fill my gulp down gallons of gunpowder and jump into a pit of flames
its has a lot of assets and skins for your game and if your a super mario maker pro you could make abetter mario maker level (with slopes)
My kids first platform builder, and they will always love it, but development is over and it doesn't export, so now my son is begging for Platform Builder to get to the next level. Certainly worth a good sale price for young kids.
Very easy to use and extremely fun too. The editor comes with default assets and themes so you can start making your platformer right away. Of course, with a bit of artistic license and know-how, you can edit and create your own visual and audio assets to use in your game too. The editor comes with interchangeable themes, from 8-bit era, handheld sepia and fantasy/sci-fi overtones. Recommended if you are bored and want something to fill a weekend or you are teaching your kids how to be creative with making their own video games. The BIG, BIG, drawback (and why I almost thumbed it down) is that you cannot export standalone games. Were this to be implemented, this would be hands-down the best platform level maker on Steam in terms of usability and flexibility.
PlataGO is a great little platform game builder. For the sale price it's more than worth a download. The best part of the app is the workshop. The community has made some fantastic mods and art for the game. It's too bad you can't export your game to share it with friends but, it's fun to great games at home.
It's super fun to just make your own levels, I love all the options you have for them. The game has quite a few bugs, but I can look past those easily. Would recommend to people who like to make their own things and to people who like platformer games.
I love it :) I'm just itching for more sprite customisation like crouching and stuff pls bring more advanced features xx 10/10
PlataGO! Super Platform Game Maker is a not directly a game in itself, despite having been launched in the game section of Steam. It's unfortunate the developers of this non-game failed to follow Valve's instructions on how to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Having said that, it is possible to play games in a limited fashion via this software, but gaming is not the primary purpose of this application. It's a construction kit for making garbage quality 2D retro pixel platformers, of which Steam has literally thousands. I've personally reviewed over 1,500 platformers on Steam. I know how bad this gets. It's a plague. We don't need any more. We're full. From a technical perspective, games made with this lacklustre construction set, and thus the construction set itself don't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. This is only capable of constructing platformers, decades old retro pixel "art" being used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent to facilitate graphics from this century, regardless, the overall visual quality of the games produced by this is extremely low as a result of this design decision. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings for any of the games this creates. There's no way for gamers to ensure they run at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee these games will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics for any game produced by this construction set. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render games produced by this construction set unplayable for differently-abled gamers. They're seriously charging $20 for the opportunity for amateur non-developers to make PC gaming worse. I'd gladly pay them $20 to remove all their pixel garbage from Steam.
