About
Planetbase is a strategy game where you guide a group of space settlers trying to establish an outpost on a remote planet.
In the game you play the role of the base architect and manager, telling your colonists where to build the structures they will need to survive. You will have to ensure that they have a constant supply of oxygen, food and water to stay alive.
You will get them to collect energy, extract water, mine metal, grow food, manufacture bots, and build a fully self-sufficient base in a harsh environment, where you are always one step away from total failure.
Even if the game is not intended to be a simulator, all the mechanics are plausible, and based on what the expected challenges of establishing a colony in an new planet would be.
Four different planets with different conditions and increasing difficulty.

Harness solar and wind energy (if available) in order to power the base's structures.
Grow hydroponic Vegetables and synthesize Vitromeat to feed your population.
Mine and produce raw resources, process them, manufacture goods, and establish a production chain.
Carefully manage the colonist immigration flow to ensure you have the people with the right skills.

Survive disasters like meteors, sandstorms or solar flares and defend your base from intruders.
Mechanize your base by creating your own bots that will help with the more arduous tasks.
Grow your colony from a few initial pioneers to a vibrant planetbase with hundreds of colonists.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

O jogo traz desafios que estimulam o raciocínio, a estratégia e a tomada de decisões, tornando a experiência instigante e dinâmica.
Very shallow gameplay. The aim is to build a base on another planet, but I don't know why they're bothering. None of the resources you can gather or make are rare, they can all be bought from the passing traders, there's no terraforming or anything, you're building a base on another world just because. I had a lot of time to think about the reason for the base existing because everything takes so damn long to happen, even on the fastest setting. There is not even any tech progression or anything to get excited about. Whilst there are technologies you can buy from the passing traders, most of these just give bigger versions of buildings you already have. And because these versions are bigger you can't incorporate them into your existing base without tearing half if it down to rebuild in slightly different positions. There's nothing that makes existing buildings better (with the possible exception of 2 GM crops I never saw a trader selling) and there's not a huge variety of buildings to begin with. The production chains are very simple but incredibly slow. The point of the game is to expand your base, but you're pretty quickly just building the same structures over and over, whilst waiting for more colonists to arrive.

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Tres bon jeu. un peu difficile au debut. on teste, on meure et on réessaye
It's fine but there are a lot of space colony sims out there and this doesn't stand out at all. I struggled to get into the flow of things and felt like I was spending most of the time knowing what I needed to do but getting annoyed by the mechanics of the game. Came back to it after not playing it for a long time and was immediately put off by the confusing interface again. Would rather go back to the stone age again- which I did.
.
I bought this game because I love Dawn of Man from the same developers. I played many colony buiders that are medival-like and thought the idea to do that on a new planet sounded fresh. The idea itself is good but even as an experienced colony-builder I found Planetbase stressful and difficult. I don't say it is a bad game (didn't play it long enough to find out more) but it is definately for people who want challenge and enjoy stress, not for a peaceful colony builder like me who wants to relax. I feel bad for giving it a bad review because it seems it is just not my type of game, but there might be others like me who think it will have a similar gameplay as Dawn of Man or other colony builder and who will feel disappointed like me.
