I'll admit I've only played the tutorial so far, but from what I can tell, it's a reskin of Jurassic World Evolution. It has me wanting to refund it, and it was only $2.74 on sale. I'd rather not have lost $2.74 to this. I own both the original Zoo Tycoon and ZT2, with all expansions on both. Ten times more fun. I'll update if I change my mind and keep it.
With my amount of hours spent in game, perhaps it's time to give it a huge thumbs up! This game has come so far since the early days, with a devoted dev team who has given us so many free updates and improvements. You can really feel the comittment they had to make the best dang zoo game they possibly could, not just for 2019 but all the way up to 2026. I think this game is well worth its price tag. Even if the entrance difficulty level is a little steep, the tutorial goes a long way to helping you play the game on a base level. After that you have a HUGE community that can help you learn and explore the VAST possibilities of the modular building system, and make your own buildings, fences and habitats that blend in perfectly with your theme or the landscape around it. Is this game worth buying months before launch? That's a Heck Yes from me, even if the new game will have updated graphics, pathing and AI it will take time and a lot of We Will See before I think it's straight up a replacement for this game, both in terms of sheer amount of content and diversity of as in terms of quality updates and all the stuff Frontier are so good at putting into their game from launch onwards.

I do like this game but don't suggest it for Steam Deck, it needs a keyboard to play properly.
