Amazing little gem with great and simple playability, cozy art and soothing soundtrack. For someone who played mostly fps games it was a bit funny rough to get in to, but once i did it was a smooth ride. Big chunk of fun for little buck. Do recommend.
This game is criminally underrated. One of the best hidden gem MVs out there. Everything felt crisp and the vibes were on point. Highly recommended
Appropriately clunky, but engaging metroidvania game. I don't agree with the review that this game is souls-like because there are no souls-like elements in this game. (Loss of 'souls' proven by death, 'bonfire', 'estus', ......) The game introduces a simple crafting and skill point system, but overall it feels more like a classic action platformer games. * This game is actively being updated. The controller was not supported properly while I was mainly playing the game, but I checked right before writing the review and it was possible to play with the controller without any problems.
This is a solid game with good atmosphere. It’s definitely satisfying chopping enemies and collecting their remains to craft better gear/sub weapons. The game is unforgiving- enemies hit hard. Stats do scale pretty significantly so you notice each point put in to one of the 4 stats. Once you learn attack patterns and how to deal with enemies, the game definitely feels fair but tough. Movement is fluid and the hit box is accurate. I see the solo developer on forums talking to people and implementing their feedback which says a lot in itself. Overall, this game is a steal for the price and I definitely recommend it if you like metroidvanias or action games.
I am not far in but felt compelled to write a review already as I am loving the game so far! Wonderfully charming pixel art and atmosphere! And very responsive and fun controls! Will update review after I play more. After playing this game for a few more hours I can honestly say that I absolutely love it! It is so well designed and made and I highly recommend it to any Metroidvania fan! Coming back one last time to update my review now that I have finished the game and I have also 100% it! Just wanted to say that in addition to my other compliments the story is also fantastic and there are multiple endings! I am going to recommend this game to anyone who will listen as there are not nearly enough reviews! I'd imagine that this game will become more popular in time!
Pretty short and fun metroidvania. I like that the beginning is pretty hard, but after a few levels, if played carrefully, you become almost invincible.
Had lots of fun playing and completing this game! A short yet sweet Metroidvania-style game that you'll also enjoy if you're into plague doctors in combat against the pestilence, only for you, the player, to uncover the truth behind the town the further you progress with the story. Pixel art and music/ambiance went nicely with the gameplay. Combat controls are not too difficult to learn either. Occasionally, the control mechanics would be stiff and clunky with certain different types of enemies you come across; however, this isn't a huge issue since the overall game difficulty isn't overwhelming, and the enemies can be easily dealt with once a player's strategy is developed as with other metroidvania-style games. It was very intriguing to discover new areas and individuals along the way, many things where I kept focus on completing the game. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience, and I look forward to other releases from this developer!
Good little game. I enjoyed it a lot. Can’t go wrong for the value.
A short and sweet little metroidvania with a pleasant artstyle. While some segments between checkpoints could be a little long, the game in general does not overstay its welcome and works hard to keep itself entertaining and interesting. I would definitely recommend this game for $5.00, if you have the money to spare there's little reason not to enjoy it.
A Metroidvania entirely to my taste.
