About
Note: This current Pixelpolis Neon early access version is not much more than a simple city-scape builder and will still change drastically.
The finished Pixelpolis Neon will be a cyberpunk city building game inspired by the style of SimCity 2000, reimagined in a neon-lit pixel art setting. However, while SimCity 2000 mostly focused on contemporary city building, Pixelpolis Neon imagines a city in an AI controlled future, with manufacturing and basic city supplies already being fully managed with artificial intelligence and robots. After a massive restructuring of the global economy at the beginning of the 21st century, accompanied by countless ideas and approaches about what a global society should look like, three distinct social groups ultimately emerged.
There are the Synth Punks (color: pink), who simply want to enjoy life. They love gaming, parties, and a chaotic lifestyle with as few rules as possible. Then there are the Cyborgs (color: blue), who strive for a highly structured and technologically advanced environment. Their goal is continuously evolving technology and the fusion of humans and machines. In stark contrast, the Traditionals (color: orange) uphold time-honored values, cherish their human existence, and enjoy engaging in art and craftsmanship.
Pixelpolis Neon now tasks you with managing a city where all three groups are satisfied. To do this, you must not only define three distinct districts but also regularly make decisions that support one group or another. If you neglect a group, its residents will gradually turn away and seek out another city. Groups you support will further develop their districts and quickly increase your city’s population.
Pixelpolis Neon adopts the new approach of some city-building games, where not only the construction of roads and buildings matters, but also the management of the city’s social structures. This is an aspect that is becoming increasingly important even in the real world – especially at a time when society is increasingly fragmenting into different ideologies.

It's not bad. But there are some odd choices. If it is about crafting a cool city, I feel like it should have more controls to allow me to do that. if it is about resource management, there should be resources to manage. Having special buildings come up for population milestones is cool but essentially meaningless since the buildings don't do anything. https://youtu.be/R_OQrAO1ma4
This game is nothing like Sim City if that's what you're thinking. It's just a sandbox you click around in and sometimes there's flying car animations, no goals, no Instructions, not structure and that's not the worst part, getting the roads to connect was near impossible. I'd rather play candy crush.
I understand it is early access, but honestly it seems a bit too early. It looks like it has been put together in a week maximum. Not much to do in a game and there is no information what the numbers or symbols in UI mean. Some stuff I could not build, I don't know why. Some stuff I don't even know what it is, there seems to be several types of roads, which function to me remains unknown. Game seems to be only visual, and monotonous at that.
Feature light but definitely a charming hidden gem
After reading your comments I think you are heading in the right direction. Best of luck to you as you build this! : ) I will keep apprised of your game as it grows. GBPII
// I liked the visuals and soundtrack; it's one of the few futuristic city-building games. The controls are simple, which is great, but it's missing a windowed mode option and specifications with the names of the buildings. I think a story mode to rebuild a post-apocalyptic or heavily polluted city would be really great. I'll definitely play it on my Expansão 3 YT channel.
Great game to chill out, even if it stutters ? lags? often. Could use some explaining on what does what as well. Otherwise, its chill. good music. passes the time.
Very basic but good vibes :)
Nice city builder, love the art style and music, looking forward to updates! My suggestions are: Multi-layer cities, roads and monorail, Weather and clouds, Spaceport, airport, power generators, Ability to build over water, Map editor, FPS settings (30fps is fine for this), Mod support.
