A Hell of a Game! It's a modern rendition of the UFO: Enemy Unknown (those who know, know) and X-Com series. Better graphics, smarter foes, longer and more varied storyline. It's not a perfect game, none is - except Elite (the original), but since combat is fun, you get through the sometimes repetitive missions. The basic idea is to defend mankind against aliens. You take over abandoned bases, build more structures in them, research technology and new equipment, recruit new soldiers and try to keep the three other major factions happy with you and not killing each other (much). Every soldier is an individual with their own skills and character types. This is not Baldur's Gate, but you learn to like a few of them and mourn their eventual deathrs. As you advance in knowledge and diplomacy, more character types became available. Try it, after first 50 hours you'll probably get the hand of it. Good luck!

you probably think - ooh, its a sale and i got nothing to do, mabe give this one a go NO Something is terrible with its design
До XCOM Тут еще очень далеко, выглядит сыро. играть не смог Хотя XCOM прошел на одном дыхании
Absolutely great game, hits my Xcom soft spot beautifully.
it a good crisis game. controller is what I play it on, the mods are more puzzle challanges, the game loop is a time force is taking control and you get choices early game and mid game are hard. troop veterans are late game and loosing a squad and lossing 4 bases are equally harsh. depending on the choice you make equals tools and objective you set. good game
Quite good XCom style game but feels not so deep and combat is missing options like hunker down which increases attacker miss chance if character is in pickle. PP is pretty nice all in all and I recommend this but (IMHO) can't beat XCOM 2 + War of the Chosen DLC which makes it the best in this genre.
If you missed X-Com this is similar in a lot of ways. I like the base-building and tactical battles. The free aiming and targeting specific body parts is another level of tactics. It is not easy either as the aliens keep evolving and resources are never as much as you would like. Then there are three factions and how you choose to interact with them will affect your technology research. Joining one will likely make you an enemy of the others though so decisions matter. I really like the game so far have been playing as much as I can. It did get too hard near the end with Umbras spawning an some other features that bogged me down to the point that I never finished the game. I am going to try again since the new update-it seems they have addressed some issues and it would probably be worth going through another cycle. Still would recommend it was fun until it wasn't but I got my money's worth I think and with the new update I think it will be better. Fun playing again right now :) * New Playthrough * I did restart and play again. The new changes have made the game a lot better and playable. It was challenging but fun and in the end I won the war Allied with both New Jericho and Synedrion. Sadly the Anu were just not going to be my friends. Anyways this time it was great, I stole an aircraft from New Jericho at the start and two more from Anu later on. The final battle was difficult but spider drones are definitely your friend. Especially if you have 3 people that can launch them and also have sniper or assault skills. Yes I would recommend this for sure it was fun this time and the game is so much better now after the update.
i like slaying squids i beat one to death without a weapon 10/10
Everything that XCOM wishes it could've been. Flawless.
I like the strategic depth and the risk/reward element.
