X-Com 2, the way it should be.
Sehr gute Alternative zu Xcom. Ob es jetzt besser ist oder nicht, muss jeder fuer sich selber beantworten. Es schwimmt jeden falls auf der gleichen Welle und mir macht es auch nach Jahren immer wieder Spass!

seems the last "update" broke it completely for me. used to be a fun game.
good
Phoenix Point n'égale clairement pas XCOM en tant que RPG tactique, cependant c'est un bon jeu a la difficulté ardu dans lequel une erreur peut couter cher a une run, c'est ce que j'attend de ce type de jeu
I can't say much because I didn't play much. And that says still much: I couldn't bear it. This is the first tactical shooter that made the concept of "Beautiful Vistas" a part of its gameplay. I don't know how to describe it better. There's "willpower zones" that fill up your willpower. So if you reach them, you feel refreshed. In a fight. I don't know how the developer meeting must have gone: "Yeah, we need a system that rewards you for going to certain places, because that is what makes fighting games so cool!" Also: The mouse wheel is hardcoded in an inverted way, so you gotta rethink how to use your mouse. Hardcoded. No way to change it. So... no recommendation. :(
My favorite Turn Based game.
As a "casual" XCOM fan, I really enjoyed Phoenix Point. I went into the game blind, expecting to restart the game after I learned how to play the first few hours, but I made it through the entire playthrough on Veteran difficulty. There were lots of stressful missions just getting overwhelmed, but taking a moment to think of all the tools available to you and getting out of those situations without losing any soldiers felt so gratifying. There were moments I ran low on resources like tech and materials, but planning and executing a successful raid mission was just another moment of gratification from playing this game. I really like the free-aim system and being able to target and disable body parts. It adds another layer of strategy compared to XCOM. The targeting reticle also feels a lot more fair compared to XCOM's 95% chance-to-hit when standing point-blank to an enemy. The movement system also feels a lot more fair -- If you only move 1 tile, it uses like 1/4 of an action point rather than a full point. This is really useful for misclicks, and also lets you do cool things like manually move in and out of cover to get better angles. Speaking of angles, there's some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moments like your soldiers not properly stepping around corners from full-cover to take their shots, which makes them shoot at the wall instead. There's also times where the UI bugs out and says you have enough AP to move to a tile and still shoot your weapon, but you make the move and end up with zero AP. Overall, I enjoyed the game. For clarity, I played the vanilla year-one edition with no mods and/or DLC. I read that the DLC, especially Festering Skies, makes the game nearly unplayable for a first playthrough because it's unbalanced and too difficult without understanding the game's mechanics. A shame that this is considered a dead game at this point...
Bom demais! Muito se compara com o X-COM, que é um jogaço, mas o Phoenix Point tem muito mais detalhes, o combate é muito mais estratégico... me surpreendeu!
