About
Immerse yourself in the history of Ancient Egypt with 50 missions in Pharaoh™: A New Era, a remake of Pharaoh (and the expansion Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile), one of the best city builders from the golden age of Sierra Entertainment. Stone by stone, build your city and manage all aspects of its development to ensure it prospers and makes you a powerful and revered pharaoh.

Develop your city by cultivating the fertile lands along the banks of the Nile valley. Erect the iconic monuments of Ancient Egypt, including the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Build temples and mausoleums to help manage all aspects of your city's health and culture as well as the predominant polytheistic religion of the time.
Ensure your city is prosperous enough to deal with economic or political crises, or even plundering by enemies. A pharaoh takes care of its people and does whatever it can to earn the favour of the gods.

Pharaoh™: A New Era celebrates 20 years since the release of the famous franchise with a complete remake, including more than 50 playable missions and over 100 hours of gameplay.
The "Campaign" mode teaches you the game basics while allowing you to experience a unique story in the heart of Ancient Egypt. Explore all aspects of life in a thriving city, build and manage all its fundamental elements to ensure it flourishes: the economy, internal and external trade, culture, health, agriculture, education, etc.

The journey back in time is really brought to life with this new version, which upgrades the gameplay mechanics to modern standards and completely redesigns the captivating soundtrack and gorgeous isometric 2D graphics.

I swear to god I wish devs working on remakes would stop shoving their ♥♥♥♥♥ in old, beloved games, shoving in modern day garbage art where none was necessary. I mean this game is run off of nostalgia, so a little thing like changing a sprite, sound effect or menu background is going to steal all the pleasure out of that element of the game. Just leave it alone and get it to work on modern systems and higher resolutions, and shove in a few QOL improvements ffs. They saw fit to replace old sprites with goofy looking 3d ones but they didn't bother to make it so that the tutorial celebration music for a complete mission wasn't blaring at the same time as the normal background music was still playing. I think it's because of individual devs wanting to be able to take credit for something glamorous that'll be remembered. They want to change a sprite sprite rather than a humble extra option in the settings menu that'd improve people's lives no end, because they're living on the forlorn hope that people who come out of nostalgia for the old graphics will eventually develop nostalgia for the new ♥♥♥♥ they've replaced it with. No thanks. Btw, there's no sensitivity for edge-scrolling, since we're on the subject. That's a perfect example of a standard QOL thing in modern games that noone was arsed with in this one. Wish I'd just played the old one, but Humble Bundle manipulated me again. Can't bring myself to give this a negative review, since it's not full blown bad, but I didn't walk away with stars in my eyes, and I brought my rose-tinted fanboy glasses and walked away feeling tired.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Potevano ottimizzarlo meglio. La colonna sonora è impietosa in rapporto all'originale.
The game is pretty good, but unfortunately there are on Chinese subtitles
The game is extremely buggy. After ordering items from the town, they never arrive, which makes it impossible to complete missions. only the graphics have improved, but the gameplay details are much worse than the previous title.
I played ALL the original games back in the day. And then I played this game for 35.8 hours. It reminded me of the old games and was fun enough for me to stick with it. I don't believe I encountered any breaking bugs - I would not have played almost 36 hours otherwise. So, I'm not sure about the negative reviews. This game delivered what it promised for me
bof
Awesome remake! My only real gripe is the new combat system... It feels really half baked and takes away from how true to the original the rest of the game is. Hopefully someone mods in the old combat at some point.
The original Pharaoh was my favorite game growing up and A New Era has revived my love for the franchise. An absolute must have.
This review is about my experience with the original Pharaoh game. I am 35 at this moment and I had a very hard childhood and it was not easy for me at home. I had no friends in the years of 6 to 10 and school was not a success. From the devastating situations at home I had no escape. One day my uncle brought me to the toy store to buy some games, of course it needed to be cheap my family did not had lots of money and I needed to pick 3 games. I was very happy that I could choose 3 games, at the game store in the Netherlands Intertoys there was a huge basked with lots of games at discount. These discounts prices were like 5 to 8 euros and lots of lots titles, with big eyes I searched for games that suited my hobbies. First I liked Egypt, old Egypt the movie The mummy stuck with me for ages. In that time I collected everything that had to do with Egypt. So while searching for a games I saw the Game Pharaoh a huge bog with a fantastic great image. I looked on the back and I was sold then and there, I asked my uncle if it could play on my windows 98 pc and he said yes. I gratefully took it in my basked next to the other 2 games that stood with me for the rest of my life. Diablo 1 and Zeus master of Olympus. Little did i know that these games would help me so much looking back. When I got home I installed Pharaoh immediately, I was blown away what i saw. The introduction video, the music, the animations of the game, the details of the water. The excitement the rush the emotions ran over me as a 8 year old boy, i could forget everything at home. Every time I played that game I was fully focused nothing of no one could take me away from my play times. With every bad encounters at home I jumped in the game and at the moments I was very happy this is the way I spend my minutes and hours as a child playing this game. Now nearly 28 years I bought the most expensive laptop in the world 2026 Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Draco Epic A2WJ-1262NL 40 year edition. I bought this for work, I am a Macbook user because my job is Multi Media Design I make high end websites, but also Photo, Videos, and graphic design. So adobe is my place to go. Now I chose for a Windows device that could handle the tasks I do I know I had to install steam just to look around. My steam account is 17 years old, so the account knew what I liked. The moment I was in the store I saw this game Pharaoh™: A New Era, and I was like. I am reading and seeing this correctly? I inspected the page and the music played, that moment when I heard the instruments I knew what this game was. The tears started the flow all the moments I had from my childhood started to flash by. Dear Triskell Interactive you have remade this game so beautiful and kept the music so faithfully I thank you for the hard work and the time to do this. I again at my age play this game with joy and lots of emotions. Kind regards, Onur Taskin. P.S I also saw Theos: Cities of Myth remake of Zues Master of Olympus I cannot wait when you will release this, you won my heart and full support.
