Petrified Pawns

Been playing since beta now and then. If you like chess with a twist then this is a great game. The developer is making lots of nice updates, the game is just getting better and better.

when the king is actually a good unit amazing chess with tactical twist! most of the time i only used the king to solo everything but really fun! thank goodness i was browsing the newest releases or it would be lost to time for me its nice

Game is truly unique. In a way I feel like if D&D stopped using dice and started using pawns this is what'd it turn into. Its got a ton of randomization that keeps it fresh for multiple simultaneous runs. There is quite a lot of strategy that goes into it despite it not being normal chess. Not to mention how beautiful the game itself looks. the only thing I'd say is it doesn't feel like its quite turned based because everything move so quickly and simultaneously with one another but it is a fun game to try out!

Concept is great, I like it. Don't expect much chess from it, but you do need to think who and where and when goes. I started with randomly moving one piece - but it's not working here. And switching the pieces is actually a bit awkward - you need to right-click a piece to select it - and if you left-click it, the current piece will move. Also if you left-click a current piece - it could also move to adjacent pile, even though you did not click on it.
