Just bought the game in the summer sales.... Its dead, 24h peak player count 5. No point to buy
I love Demeo and the pvp aspect is cool but there's not enough content to justify being a separate game in my opinion. This should have just been an add on to Demeo.
This game needs a lot of balancing, wizard can banish you in lava and its all about meta on getting the same characters again and again. Greedy company for telling everyone that this will be a mode added in the original game in the roadmap then decided to make it a standalone.
Really wanted to love this like Demeo original. But since it's an older game and requires players to be more present your mostly going to be playing against other bots. I feel this should have been made as a DLC to the original.
game is dead, barley has players
It’s demeo, it’s player versus player. Seems like it has to be a win. It seems like a great game. But, with issues. The pc version of demeo, the original, when you tilt the table seems to lose it’s center and go to black screen where it tells you it’s taking you back to table. This pc version, running on a reasonably high end pc, does it a lot more often than the quest version. Screen goes black and 3 seconds wait. Annoying. Specially because when I play this, I can’t see the map with an untilted board without messing up my back and neck. I also prefer to relax. Well this version has the same issue, only, it has cost me turns. Because while those three seconds are going by, specially if it happens more than once because I angled the board to see, then I waste a turn. PvP has a countdown timer for turns, and Time runs out. Plus, had a player exploiting some cheat. Two invisible wizards who were able to repeatedly target me. One wizard took 5 turns, maybe he had more than one one more turn (have not seen them in this game yet), but it still seemed ridiculous that a wizard I was unable to see, kept hitting me. With targeted attacks that required dice rolls, when I could not see them. Gonna try and upload the video to the devs if they have a discord. Also, trying to record in obs, and this is the only game that had the issue. It made it small and cornered in the video, even though I used the same settings as all my other games. The cheating and board tilting issues are way bigger problems though. Pc should have no problem with board tracking during tilt on a high end pc. Certainly not more than standalone. They need to fix that. Plus, for a pc vr game, the hand and table movement are a stuttery mess. Hands constantly stutter and do micro jitters. No game I have played yet has it so bad as this game. Really unoptimized. Moving the table is even worse. And it is all way worse than the original demeo on quest. Nice visuals, but stutters a lot when moving anything. I have an i9-13900kf, and a 4070ti as well as 32 gb high speed ddr 5 ram and an 800 watt gold power supply. So there is zero reason why this game should not run well on my system. Fix this. I was also told that if someone picks up the rogue on the enemy team, then they can tell exactly where you move the character even while invisible. Exploits and terribly optimized for a pcvr game. Plus, as others mentioned, having to work so hard to unlock things, for people who do not primarily play this game, seems a bit unreasonable, at least without more options. Such as new players being able to have all characters unlocked, for private matches against friends. I have friends who want to play me. But they are not willing to play this all the time, and therefore do not have a level playing field of character selections. Which is frankly stupid on the devs behalf. Hey, make it so people do not get credit toward leveling up, in private matches, if need be. But don’t block characters behind a grind wall for people who just want to come over and play a casual game. It honestly makes the game a lot less playable and less enjoyable. Think devs, think.
Do you have a game developer? I am a Chinese player and I would like to give feedback. I purchased this game and played it for a few hours, but the game prompted me that I cannot connect to the online network because there is no Chinese server. I also tried to use a different VPN to play, but the result is still the same. How can I obtain key rewards and play this game online.
Barbarian is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OP. Stupid game, terrible balance. No patch in ages to fix it. Takes many games to even unlock Barbarian and you just have to grind through a bunch of meta gaming barbarians to unlock it. Like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ endless loop from hell. Big VR fan, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ balancing of games like this makes the genre less appealing and hurts the cross play community.
This is an awesome strategy game. It’s hard playing skilled players but the more you play the more in depth you get to know this game. I don’t usually write reviews but this game deserves 10/10. Don’t be fooled by the low player count on steam, it’s cross platform and has Quest, Steam and PS players so don’t worry about finding players.
I agree with others that this game should have been included in the original Demeo game and feels, at most, like DLC. However, if you played and liked the original Demeo, then you'll probably like this. In short, this is a series of skirmish maps, with 2 heroes and their minions versus a like set of enemies. At the beginning of each match, you may get to select your heroes, minions, and cards--or not, depending on the map. Matches are short, about 10-20 minutes at most, since the map gets slowly consumed by fire as the rounds progress. It's an interesting concept that guarantees that the action keeps moving and that there are no stalemates. I like it. If you like turn-based games that include fantasy themes and tactical combat, this is a good one. If you've played Demeo (which I recommend), then this is somewhat more of the same. The AI is pretty decent, and there are enough heroes, maps, cards, monsters, etc. for hours of play. However, do wait for a discount.
