Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

A unique mystery game with cool art
Beautifully drawn and wonderfully executed, this is more of a story than a game but still feels deep and vibrant. There appear to be many different paths to pursue, and there may be multiple endings. I'm not sure yet if I'll go through it again (there are a lot of cut scenes, and I'm not sure if the differences are worth the time to experience), but doing it all once? No regrets. Buy this game.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Very intriguing game with a variety of choices that form the path you'll take and the future available dialogs. Rich story and lively character/environment design. Only thing is, its kind of an easy game, rather than a brain teaser/ detective game. But the story makes up for that.
I have mixed feelings about this game. It has outstanding art, and the story starts really well. If it ended at Act 1, I would praise it highly, despite its various historical inaccuracies (more on those below). Sadly, the quality declines steadily from there. Starting with Act 2, the illusion of meaningful choice disappears, the dialogue becomes increasingly tedious, and the new characters fall flat. Act 3 brings this decline to its logical conclusion, turning the game into a largely linear sequence of bloated dialogue. The finale is especially cheap and baffling, feeling more like a parody than a serious conclusion. I'm also conflicted about the historical accuracy. A lot of things here are astonishingly well done:

The visual style is heavily inspired by actual late-medieval and early Renaissance manuscripts, and many details of manuscript art and typography are remarkably accurate. For example, references to God in dialogue appear in red, reflecting real manuscript conventions.
Everyday life is largely period-appropriate, from food and work to homes and meals. There are even tiny details that most players would probably never notice - for instance, the pigs look like medieval pigs rather than their modern descendants.
Social realities are much more complicated than a simple division between nobles and peasants. Different groups have distinct interests and genuine grievances. You also see the difficulties a single woman could face when inheriting property, although the presentation of such cases is somewhat oversimplified.
The broader historical backdrop is also strong: the Reformation and the Peasants' War, the transition from manuscripts to printing and the resulting decline of scriptoria, and so on.
That said, being somewhat authentic does not necessarily mean being historically accurate:

The game compresses chronology and portrays some historical transitions as happening much faster than they did in reality. The shift from manuscripts to printing is a good example.
Characters frequently express distinctly modern worldviews, particularly when it comes to gender roles, sexuality, personal relations, and identity. At times, they feel less like medieval people and more like 21st-century people dressed in medieval clothing.
The dialogue is also noticeably modern. Characters banter constantly, use contemporary-sounding jokes and insults, express sarcasm in familiar modern ways, openly discuss their feelings, and have casual conversations about complex ideas.
Religion is nuanced to an extent, but the distinction between paganism and Christianity is too neat. In reality, folk practices could be heterodox or superstitious without necessarily being regarded as "pagan".
The game features far too many foreigners for a middle of nowhere. The Ethiopian monk in Act 1 is the most obvious example: why is he travelling to a remote abbey in Bavaria, where is he going, and why is he travelling alone? How does he manage to cross dangerous medieval roads by himself? Such characters are presented almost like 21st-century tourists.
Literacy is unrealistically widespread. A rural villager being able to read letters or simple messages is plausible; comfortably reading complex books and following theological arguments is not. Having half the village able to do so is even less plausible.
Many individual situations are possible, but extraordinarily unlikely. The abundance of foreigners and highly literate commoners are examples. Magdalene, the Act 3 protagonist, is another: she is unusually empowered by late-medieval standards.
Demographics are also distorted. Families are too small, with only one or two children being typical.
Yet I'm giving this game a thumbs-up, as it's still better than the vast majority of history-themed crap out there.
Little detective-investigative game settled in medieval age. The art and athmosphere are incredible.
It's so beautiful. It makes me mad how good it is
Un'esperienza storica in tutti i sensi, apprezzato suoni disegni e personaggi. Anche se non ho collezionato tutto, mi sono divertita a fare scelte un po' insolite e a vederne le conseguenze.
