I'm only 109 minutes in and have 3 keys so far, but I've been really enjoying the gameplay. There are a couple issues with the character running when trying to shoot and the character continues a running animation instead, but other than that, it has been really fun!
I have played the game for about 115 minutes thus far. Upon initial impressions, the game is fun to play. Very much a Metroid clone. Which is nice, I love those games. However, in the short time I have played the game, it has crashed 5 times. The FPS drops and lags if there are too many things on screen at a time. Game is a 2 out of 5 stars at this point, but with a proper patch to fix some of these issues it would be fun and great.
Pentacore is already a really fun game in the genre of Metroidvania, just two hours in. I've been wanting/looking for a "classic" game that took me back to the old Nintendo days for a while (having just delved into replaying some classic Megaman games -- again), and this *definitely* takes me back. That said, it has clearly learned and evolved from the classic formulas significantly with more story, better color depth/palette, and cleaner gameplay. The environment and actors blend together nicely with the soundtrack and effects. Everything just "feels" good about the game. Do yourself a favor and get this game!
I recently picked up this platformer game on Steam and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed! The controls are smooth and responsive, the graphics are colorful and eye-catching, and the level design is challenging but fair. The game has a fantastic soundtrack that really sets the mood and gets you in the zone. I also appreciate the various power-ups and abilities that you can collect throughout the levels, as it adds an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay. Overall, I would highly recommend this platformer game to anyone who is a fan of the genre. It's an absolute blast to play and offers hours of fun and excitement.
pretty nice surprise once I downloaded it. nostalgia, nostalgia... will spend some more time on it next weekend!
le jeu a freezer 3 fois en 45 minutes de jeu et tu perd de la progression
The games rooms aren't overly interesting, just an overabundance of enemies. The map is awful, comprising of just squares that don't in any way show how they connect to one another. These 2 things combine to make the exploration tedious -something that ought to be the selling point in a metroidvania. Can't say I recommend this one.
Cool game. It's more a classic Nes metroid rendition than a metroidvania with modern controls and directional aiming.
I don't like having to thumb down, but it's just not something I'd tell someone to snag on sale or at full price. What's here is an extremely basic game following a bare minimum recipe. It works, but is less than the sum of its parts. Got all items and final boss in about 90 minutes - the environs look and sound decent, even good, but each area is extremely linear with the bare minimum of alternate paths and effectively zero reason to linger or return. Controls are iffy, following a known recipe in a straightforward way but with technical problems like occasional dropped inputs. Bosses are... there, providing basic patterns to react to and little else. It is, at the end of the day, a shipped title - everyone starts somewhere. It's complete, it's more than most manage, it's developers should feel pride in their work, but it's also very much an amateur effort.
