Pekoe

Wish I could refund, it was cute and had potential if it wasn't completely abandoned by the devs. LOVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!! :))

First, the game is really cute and has everything I love. A cozy game with cats. The style is adorable and it's fun. The big red flag is, I own this game for over a year now and there were maybe 1 or 2 tiny updates. It still has gamebreaking bugs and though the devs said they didn't abandon the game, it very much feels like it. They stated themself that they're mostly working on their new game instead of finishing this one. I wish I could return it and get my money back because I'm really fed up. I have a lot of patience, I don't mind delays ect. but they took the money and abandoned the game. So I can't recommend buying it at the current state. There are still too many bugs that break the game or make you stuck and the devs aren't fixing it. I still encounter the same bugs since of september '24 and now its november '25. Save your money and buy a better game, or at least an EA game that isn't abandoned.

I got this game because I wanted a cozy making cats tea game and it was ok to start with, but it's getting really frustrating and not worth the 17$ I paid for it. It's ok making tea at the beginning although a little simple, but when it starts to get more "complex" it also gets confusing. You will have cats asking you for seasonal tea (they don't teach you about that before hand) so I made a tea with typically spring ingredients, WRONG. At a later time at one of their shops they asked me to make them a seasonal tea and all they had for me was autumn flush (despite that it was spring) made it, "Yay, this is exactly what I wanted". So I figured any season was ok if they wanted seasonal tea. Made a seasonal tea again for a cat asking for seasonal tea, WRONG. It was rainy, so I should have made them tea for that. Got another cat asking for a seasonal tea on the same day, still raining, so I made the monsoon flush as it specifically says it's for rainy weather, WRONG. What was right? I will never know. I don't think I've ever rage quit a cozy game before. You get paid SO little if you get it wrong and you already get like 3-5 paying customers a day. You also have to make tea for your "friends" who don't pay you anything. Not to mention after a few days of game play all of the dialogue is repetitive and monotonous. It is SO incredibly slow to modify/decorate your tea shop. You make very little and it takes me multiple days to order one piece of furniture that you can only put in VERY specific preassigned places. I have not gotten any upgrades to get pretty tea sets or had the ability to customize the shop portion of my house. They keep letting me buy bubble tea supplies, but no one will teach me how to do bubble tea. Frustrating and disappointing.

EDIT: [October 5, 2025] After what has been nearly a year and a half since any kind of update, I'm unable to recommend this game anymore. It's clear they have moved their focus to another project, and Pekoe in its current state does not warrant an $18 purchase. If I had to guess, you'd essentially be funding the devs on a totally different game if you buy this one. My original review and purchase was positive under the assumption updates would continue to be made and full release in a reasonable amount of time. Pekoe is a cute and cozy game, they made it quite immersive as far as tea brewing goes and I like how many combinations you can try, and you have a lot of freedom to make what you want while still fulfilling the special requests the customers give you. I just wish there was more to do sometimes; I find myself tabbing out frequently just waiting for customers to appear, or not really finding much to do to interact with the villagers despite having a friendship system. You just talk to them for a pretty basic yes or no question which I've already seen a lot of repeats to. There seemed to be a smidgen of plot when you first start and then it just... didn't get brought up anymore. I'm hoping the fact a friend system is even there means it will be fleshed out more on full release!

Pekoe is extremely adorable and a fun way to pass the time. A relaxing and calm game, if you like cats and making drinks then i definitely recommend this one. Only downside is that the game does seem to be abandoned and most likely is not going to leave early access or get any new updates which is quite sad as it truly is a cute game and has lots going for it.

Вы не будете чувствовать себя одиноко в этой игре, ведь с того момента, как вы познакомитесь со всеми кошками (на данный момент их 11), каждый из них захочет вас навестить и пообщаться. Визуальная составляющая игры до невероятного проста, но здесь и не требуется next-gen графика. Мультяшный приятный стиль, классический для большинства инди-проектов. Особенно она приятно смотриться по мере того, как вы украшаете свой чайный домик, а после погружаетесь с головой в приятный процесс приготовления чая, который нужно выполнять мышкой. Это похоже на классические мини-игры с малыми вкроплениями физ.движка. Так или иначе, единственное, с чем вам понадобиться разобраться, так это какой чай стоит готовить тому или иному котику. A promising and chill game... That seems to have been abandoned. Wait with buying it until they return and finish the game. Don't give money to perpetual-EA games.

So far I think the game is really cute, the story and the characters are interesting. It’s fun making different recipes and finding new ingredients. I only wish there was more to do sometimes, when you don’t have customers and you’ve heard the dialogue from the townspeople for the day you’re sometimes left with not much to do. Overall though it seemed to pick up a bit after a while.

Such a sweet and charming game! I love the characters and the mechanics- it's so simple but done so well. I cant get over the sound the characters make when they talk!! Im so so so happy I get to say I purchased this masterpiece not even three weeks after it launched on Steam. I cannot wait to see where this game goes and how it feels after its full release!
