Pavlov kind of fell off. I first got my PCVR headset in 2018ish, and Pavlov was *the* VR game to get (outside of Beat Saber haha). It hits that perfect balance between adhering to some sense of realism, and allowing for arcadey action, where Counter-Strike tends to sit. A big draw for me was the Steam Workshop support, most of the time when other people are playing, you head to the server browser and see a large variety of maps and gamemodes available to choose from. A particular favorite of mine was always the Jailbreak gamemode/map, you have a team of jail guards looking after the other team of prisors, whose goal is to do the jailbreaking mentioned in the gamemodes title. It was always a thrill dashing around the map as a prisoner, doing various tasks to enable my escape, under watchful eye of guards who are most likely going to RDM me. Anywho, Vankrupt Games made the highly logical move of making a Meta Quest version of the game available to players, with the unfortunate compromise of not supporting the Steam Workshop, which really isn't there fault, how would the infrastructure of pushing Steam Workshop content to a non-Steam game even work? Most of the submissions would not even be optimized for running on the mobile device. This effectively killed a lot of activity on Steam Workshop maps, as a significant portion of the playerbase are unable to access to content, most who can just end up joining those who cannot because they have the most players. Again, this isn't Vankrupts Games fault, it's just unfortunate circumstances from my perspective. Another issue with making the game more accessible is how it effects who is in the playerbase, there's just a lot more young children in lobbies which really throws off the vibe I got prior to the Meta Quest version of the game. Again, not Vankrupt Games fault. I love Pavlov VR, the guns are constantly fascinating to hold and manipulate, they're fun to try to shoot others with, and I still have lots of fun with the game as it is today. All my complaints are just stupid boomer posting, go play some Pavlov today.

Developers are great apes. Real life orangutans and bonobos. Mindlessly swinging from each worthless update to worthless update. Adding microtransactions just to milk any last bit of change from the previously loyal fans. Annihilating mods. Downfall needs to be studied.
game's dead
I will not be redownloading this game until something is done about the openxr runtime crap. No other game for vr on steam has had me go back and forth setting one or the other for openxr just to play a game I bought On Steam to play On SteamVr. It was running perfectly fine and then this stuff with openxr and the dance back and forth of which launcher needs to open the game just ruined everything. Either way it looks like garbage, On Steam vr the viewpoint drags and lags behind where my head is pointing so I feel like I've got silly goggles on and the Oculus App Launcher has like almost like in game dead pixels and missing textures everywhere. I have no idea how it's meant to be played but it used to run fine on steamvr with oculus equipment so what on earth changed??? I tried this game again today hoping for some kind of update to have fixed literally anything and it's the same crap from nearly a YEAR ago so what are we doing. Not even getting into the workshop wipe, this in of it self is ruining the game.
This is one of my favorite VR games I ever played, but it's died now. After the UE5 update, just all mod support got reset to day one and it never recovered on the PC end. It has the best shooting of any VR game I've ever played (besides Alyx, though that's cheating a bit since there were no 2 handed weapons) and for that it is quite fun. But the lack of custom games these days shows, the playerbase, little as it was even at its prime, has fully leveled out to nothing. I can not recommend that you get this anymore except in a steep sale for fun with friends. RIP Pavlov, you gave me most of my favorite memories with VR.
игра полная имба. Купил в начале катки калашик, поставил бомбу, убил всех КТшников, а потом уже и в игру зашел
Pavlov used to be one of the best shooters for VR but the developers absolutely killed this game They added cosmetics to a $25 game They made a update that killed almost all mods The whole selling point was the really cool mods like the Cod Zombies mod and they killed it And none of the developers of those mods wanted to fix it Don't even think about buying this game I mean this game is dead 62 average daily players per month They added Playstation VR support so all of the snot nosed egotistical kids started playing ruining matches You know it's all right having a few kids 'cause they can be funny sometimes but most of them are just insanely racist and just cuss constantly And they keep adding esports additions for no reason Like no one wants to play E sports on Pavlov because there are no players That's like cooking a 5 star meal for your cat Yeah the cat will enjoy it but you just wasted all that time for a one singular animal doesn't help They update the game once every two years and most of the updates are just like let's add a map and ruin a feature I mean I literally haven't touched the game since 2025 and there's nothing new to look at because there hasn't been any updates It's ****ing ridiculous Doesn't help that this game Runs like a paraplegic grandma And the game is 70 gigs for what The three maps and the 8 million cosmetics I want to replay the game to see what's new in the modding scene but I can't be bothered to delete anything to download this ♥♥♥♥ lol Also there was never a seated option like I'm fine with standing but man sometimes I just want to sit down and just shoot stuff But Nope the game is going to sit and think you're crouching so you move insanely slow Sorry for the long review I'm very critical and I don't know when to shut up haha
This's once a good VR shooter, until they DOWNGRADED the game to UE5. The performance is poor. The file size is super bloated (It's larger than the fxxxing Elden Ring!). You devs should stop chasing the UE5 slop trend. We need frame rate and responsive control, not a stutter film to watch. Stop using the broken engine only good at trailers.
Workshop purge doesnt deserve to be reccomended
