Reviews
Great game. Basically CS in VR. Be careful if you are even slightly prone to motion sickness, though.

the community can lowkey be corny but lots of people are normal and chill
Fun game but do NOT download VIVE to use it. Vive will linger on your system and keep crashing it. I uninstalled it years ago and it keeps freezing my computer because it randomly wants to open itself on its own! DO NOT USE VIVE!
this luigi guy has good ideas against greed

game's dead
As much as I would like to give this game a positive review, there are currently too many issues holding it back for me to fully recommend it. First are the good things The weapon handling, gunplay, and game modes are some of the best you can find in VR. Whenever I don't have anything else to play, I often come back to Pavlov because playing with friends can be one of the most fun experiences in gaming. You get to meet people from all over the world and have genuinely social experiences. TTT is one of the most creative game modes I have ever played. It is a unique experience that can keep players entertained for hundreds of hours. The game also runs very well and is highly optimized. Now for the problems. The biggest issue is the current player base. There simply aren't enough active lobbies anymore. Many modded servers are completely empty, and you might only find around 10 to 15 active servers, with many of them having no players. Because of this, a lot of the game's mods and custom content are rarely used. Another issue is the community atmosphere. While Pavlov can be incredibly fun and social, some lobbies can also be very toxic, which can drive new players away. The game has a lot of potential with its custom content, but many mods are either unused or lack the player base needed to keep them alive. And as Mhx Air said in his steam review, and i Quote "Dead game. The switch to UE5 literally killed the whole game and community. All the best mods were on Legacy, and they removed Legacy. The devs should have just made a sequel instead of rugpulling us and forcing us to have an update that nobody wanted. From thousands of players to less than 100. Look at Steam charts. They should have never forced us to switch to UE5. I just wanna play my Workshop mods again bro. I don't care about UE5 graphics or the Jared coins microtransaction slop. Bring back Legacy. Many of us genuinely feel scammed, and left nostalgic for the good old days."" Overall, Pavlov is a great VR game with some major problems holding it back. I would recommend it if you want to play casually with modes like TTT, TDM, OITC, Gun Game, and others. However, if you are mainly buying it for the modded content, be aware that the modding side of the game is currently dead. I really hope that the Steam Frame will be able to revive this gorgeous game, but right now it's sad.
Pavlov kind of fell off. I first got my PCVR headset in 2018ish, and Pavlov was *the* VR game to get (outside of Beat Saber haha). It hits that perfect balance between adhering to some sense of realism, and allowing for arcadey action, where Counter-Strike tends to sit. A big draw for me was the Steam Workshop support, most of the time when other people are playing, you head to the server browser and see a large variety of maps and gamemodes available to choose from. A particular favorite of mine was always the Jailbreak gamemode/map, you have a team of jail guards looking after the other team of prisors, whose goal is to do the jailbreaking mentioned in the gamemodes title. It was always a thrill dashing around the map as a prisoner, doing various tasks to enable my escape, under watchful eye of guards who are most likely going to RDM me. Anywho, Vankrupt Games made the highly logical move of making a Meta Quest version of the game available to players, with the unfortunate compromise of not supporting the Steam Workshop, which really isn't there fault, how would the infrastructure of pushing Steam Workshop content to a non-Steam game even work? Most of the submissions would not even be optimized for running on the mobile device. This effectively killed a lot of activity on Steam Workshop maps, as a significant portion of the playerbase are unable to access to content, most who can just end up joining those who cannot because they have the most players. Again, this isn't Vankrupts Games fault, it's just unfortunate circumstances from my perspective. Another issue with making the game more accessible is how it effects who is in the playerbase, there's just a lot more young children in lobbies which really throws off the vibe I got prior to the Meta Quest version of the game. Again, not Vankrupt Games fault. I love Pavlov VR, the guns are constantly fascinating to hold and manipulate, they're fun to try to shoot others with, and I still have lots of fun with the game as it is today. All my complaints are just stupid boomer posting, go play some Pavlov today.
