WOW
Really not good fighting mechanics for what's supposed to be a fighting game. Levels and quests are boring and tedious too. And on top of all that, there's no saving right where you want to leave off, so you'll need to do quite a bit of replaying if you feel like exiting any level. Also there's only like 2 music tracks in the game lol. It's a shame really, because Pato Box has one of the most unique visual styles I've seen in an indie game, similar to MadWorld, an old game that was unfortunately released only for the Wii.
這種美術風格特別容易3D暈。4/10
Pato god*
I can't remember how I came across this game, but as both a boxing fan and a classic video game fan I loved Pato Box! The art style is immediately striking, so I want to start with that. The graphics look great and the crisp monochrome look is really memorable. More importantly however is the gameplay, and Pato Box strikes that excellent balance of difficulty where I kept thinking 'One more shot, I know I can beat this guy'. The fights are really varied and the developers did an amazing job using the same simple controls and intuitive moves to make each fight unique and fun. It's a perfect showcase that you don't have to stack on extra mechanics and make a game more complex to make it fun and deep! Highly recommend, give this game a shot, you won't regret it!
Non-satisfying combat that gets repetetive quickly, art-style and premise is really nice but if the game ain't fun to play than I cant recommend it.
I really enjoyed Pato Box. It's a great game with an beatutiful art direction, a really good soundtrack (seriously, check it out!) and a neat amount of challenge for my taste. Some fights can be tough, but learning the patterns is key. It's story is simple, but fitting and the humor is great, too. Only issue I had is that some animations are tied to the framerate, so if you're playing with a refresh rate higher than 60 fps, tune it down, otherwise you won't get through the labs or the last boss. So yeah, give it a shot!
A game with a good concept and a poor execution. In a Punch-Out style game you want good readability throughout a fight in terms of pretty much everything - audio, visual, animation tells, etc. This game unfortunately has none of these, good tells are almost nonexistent and essential fight mechanics are hidden behind secrets you have to find in the levels before you fight bosses, sometimes even with these secrets found the mechanics are almost nonsensical, a certain bosses's rage mode being a big one. On top of that you have obnoxious gimmick sections like the "music" boss that is entirely split second reactions (or a memorization of multiple minute long patterns) and a "horror" level that plays like a poorly made Doom wad.
♥♥♥♥ this game and its cool boss fights
