In a nutshell, this is Punch Out with missions and an awesome soundtrack. I appreciate the attention to details like the names and appearances of the characters. The game is hilariously enjoyable once you get a better handle on timing and patterns...except in the Food Factory. For Patoken hunting, that level is inspired by a circle of Hell.

I really enjoyed Pato Box. It's a great game with an beatutiful art direction, a really good soundtrack (seriously, check it out!) and a neat amount of challenge for my taste. Some fights can be tough, but learning the patterns is key. It's story is simple, but fitting and the humor is great, too. Only issue I had is that some animations are tied to the framerate, so if you're playing with a refresh rate higher than 60 fps, tune it down, otherwise you won't get through the labs or the last boss. So yeah, give it a shot!

I can't remember how I came across this game, but as both a boxing fan and a classic video game fan I loved Pato Box! The art style is immediately striking, so I want to start with that. The graphics look great and the crisp monochrome look is really memorable. More importantly however is the gameplay, and Pato Box strikes that excellent balance of difficulty where I kept thinking 'One more shot, I know I can beat this guy'. The fights are really varied and the developers did an amazing job using the same simple controls and intuitive moves to make each fight unique and fun. It's a perfect showcase that you don't have to stack on extra mechanics and make a game more complex to make it fun and deep! Highly recommend, give this game a shot, you won't regret it!

Habe mir etwas in richtung Punch-Out erhofft und mal den Story Mode ausprobiert. Der Kontrast ist auf Dauer unangenehm auf den Augen. Nachdem ich den ersten Boss nicht besiegt hatte (zuviel Try and Error bei den Attacken außerhalb der Roboter) habe ich eine Pause eingelegt (auch weil einem die Augen Weh taten). Nachdem ich erneut gestartet habe, musste ich auch noch feststellen das im Story Mode IMMER nur am Anfang eines Levels gespeichert wird. Würde das Spiel nicht weiterempfehlen...
