Paranormal Detective: Escape from the 90's

Really enjoyed this, Good puzzles and great mechanics, well worth the entry fee.

On balance this game just wasn't worth the price of admission personally. Whilst it was billed as being a nostalgia trip to a 90's arcade, everything fell just too short of the mark. The whole arcade itself just feels lifeless and empty with most of the machines seeming to be there just as space filler rather than actually doing anything. I'm not sure if that changes later on but I felt it wasn't worth continuing past the refund window to find out. What did work in the roughly an hour I spent in the game was just dull and uninspiring. Essentially all that I managed to play with was a skeetball machine, a basketball hoop, a claw machine, a pinball and a single arcade machine. There's also an air hockey table but I didn't get to try that. You can see all of these in the first video for the game on the store page. Beyond that the escape room element held some appeal but not enough that I could see myself coming back to the game at all. Overall it's really not worth it and feels like a good idea poorly executed. There are some good elements but unfortunately none of them help to detract from everything that's missing.

I played both this game and the previous game set in the 80's back to back and it was a fun time. The puzzles were a litter harder in the 90's but not mind melting. The arcade games were a nice touch, I just wish that there were more of them. If there were more games then I believe the arcade mode would give it more replay value but the only reason I even loaded the arcade mode was to capture the flying cards. I do recommend it but unless more content is added for arcade mode I would say to get it on sale or bundle deal with the previous game.

Positive: - Good ambiance / music - several mini games - Phone that acts as menu for immersion Negative: - 3 CDs for the same game ? why ? :(((( - Bugged physic (items falling through objects / air hockey with flying pallet) - Item disappearing if you reload your progression - Not so many mini games, too much "out of order" machines :( - Keypad difficult to tap correctly - Pinball bugged Conclusion: - Worth it if you like the 90's and if the game is in sales. Tip for developer: - You should consider packing this game with your "80's" opus into one game, making use of the "CD" mechanic, maybe offering the new opuses as DLC and all as a bundle.

I had a really good time playing the first game Escape From the 80s. So I thought this game would be just as fun. However, it's just not in my opinion. The setting is a dark drab and lifeless arcade room. Gameplay is collecting toy penguins and then trying to decipher a highly convoluted and confusing door code puzzle. Overall, I just didn't enjoy this experience nearly as much as Escape From the 80s, so I cannot recommend it.

This was just as fun as the 80's version! I hope that there will be more in development for it's highly entertaining and the clues are fun to figure out!

Good VR Escape Room, just like the previous game in Paranormal Detective series. Enjoyable puzzles with helpful hint system, passable minigames, about 2 hours of content. Works on Reverb G2.

Fun detective game with lots of stuff to do and interactive activities that sidetrack you very easy.

Better than the first, but still not a game I'd recommend. Writing continues to be horrible, especially.
