It's a decent, short puzzle game. The story says the theatre is haunted, but outside of 2 story elements (and some oppressive ambiance near the beginning), I honestly forgot it was supposed to be haunted. Roughly 90 min long.
What I liked
+ Hands have physics colliders, along with most items. Being able to casually push junk around is a nice touch of verisimitude. Especially in a puzzle game where you can just trash the room if you get annoyed. + All the puzzles are interacted with physically, while not being physics based. (Except 1). I.e. You're plugging wires into different sockets, you're holding film negatives up to light, you're hand cranking dials, etc. + the puzzles are about medium difficulty. Enough to make you think for a minute or two, but not enough to get stumped on. + It's a fun 20s/30s settings and the music is good.
What I didn't like
- Picking up objects is awkward. There's a goldilocks zone where you can just grab things from a distance. But it never feels right? If your hand is too far, it won't work. (Which makes sense) But If your hand is too close, to the object, it won't work either. Furthermore, there's no natural alignment when holding objects, which isn't a big deal until you try to pick up a piece of paper to read have to contort your wrist to read it, or pass it back and forth between your hands to get to a good angle. - There is a bit of an over-reliance on physics at times, causing some interactions to be more frustrating than they should be. For example, you have a grid of buttons and it's way too easy to fat finger multiple of them at a time. My hand got stuck inside of a trash can somehow? (in retrospect, that's hilarious) - Objects you can interact with have a floating circle near them so you can tell what you can and cannot pick up. However, this circle always renders on top of everything, so if you walk up to a locked safe, suddenly 8 circles pop up. - There's one "puzzle" that's just a physics based "get the ball through the maze" game. Combine with janky physics and/or overly sensitive VR controls and it's annoying as hell. - There are a few safes that you have to open, but the textures on the dials is extremely low resolution and hard to read? Which is weird because other textures (like on notes) are easy to read.
What I'd like to see more of
= I like the backpack mechanic of stashing items in there, but there aren't any reusable items to really make use of it?
I went the whole game with a screwdriver and only used it one time at the beginning.
= Make more junk interactable! It felt weird finding a table with a book and a matchbox on it, and being able to pick up the book and throw it, but not be able to pick up the match box!
Overall: It's good!
@Tyelia Danke ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY_dRBUamyA&t 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
and discover more reviews from me
If you like escape room style puzzles, this is a no brainer recommendation. The game is not the longest, I managed to finish it in 75 minutes, but that felt very fast, I would guess that 2+ hours is more normal. And some of the interactions are a little janky, I had some trouble turning dials, and sometimes my virtual hand got stuck on an item and I had to walk far away to free it. I also didn't manage to call a menu with any button, but that might have been a controller mapping issue (Quest 2 with Oculus Touch Controllers via Virtual Desktop). What I really liked were the puzzles themselves, they aren't too challenging and not too easy, versatile enough to not feel repetitive, and very satisfying when you solve them. And the mood and setting. The game doesn't have any horror elements, but there is definitely lots of murder mystery tension in the visuals and the music, and the tension only keeps growing until the end. Over all, if you like some puzzling and creepy mood, I can absolutely recommend this, I had a blast. It can maybe be compared to "The Room VR", albeit with less supernatural elements and a little shorter. But that's a good one to take aim with if you want a similar experience.
This is a lovely singleplayer VR escape room game with a fantastic vintage atmosphere! The puzzles are fun, unique, and challenging without being so difficult that I got stuck for a long period of time on one. I feel like VR adds to the satisfaction of solving the puzzles. The experience is longer than the average escape room with around 2 hours of playtime plus a couple Easter eggs. The story sets you up for some interesting mystery that compels you to dig deeper! I loved the music and the spooky, dark setting, and often found myself looking behind me as though I was being watched... I experienced a couple glitches (hands getting stuck etc) while playing and sometimes had trouble with grabbing with Quest controllers, but nothing that stood out as game-breaking. I'd also love to see some multiplayer someday (though this one probably makes more sense as single player) Overall, I highly recommend this game if you are looking for a fun escape game to do in an evening or two. I even found myself saying "this is awesome" out loud! I look forward to future updates from the devs :)
I love escape games, I've played many of varying quality and lets just say the bar is very low. this game however delivered in spades. fantastic graphics, great atmosphere, it has a story and plenty of puzzles that will get you scratching your head and then kicking yourself when you work them out. Those facts coupled with the replay-ability provided by achievements and i have to say you could do far worse than this game for much more money. This has to be one of my top 5 escape games with the rarefied air such as The room, I expect you to die, abode 2 and floor plan.
Finished this on Monday this week in one run! Though the game does feel a bit short, the amount of puzzles and mystery within its core story are very interesting and intuitive. Expect to use your intuition and on't be surprised if you get stuck for a moment or two!
Above average Escape the Room Puzzle game ~1.5-2.5hrs to finish. Puzzles are clever and very satisfying, clues are "clear" as in easy to miss but in plain view, and most importantly, they make sense. There is some jank in the game, i had to reload the game a couple of times to fix small issues, also hands clipping getting stuck was a bit annoying but not game breaking. There is item collision physics, like you can swipe stuff contacting it with your hands, and this adds SO much to this kinds of games, makes the world feel alive. You have a backpack where you can store stuff, the deeper in game, the more it seems unnecesary, most items are used once but you can keep carrying them making you wonder if youll be able to use them later. The story was ok, you get most of the lore in a series of letters written by various characters, i liked the whole arc and kept me interested, i read everything i came across. Ambience is great, old timey cinema with pretty good graphics, but no graphic options. Performance was great with a 3600/6950xt on an Index with 200% res, solid 120fps. Recommended for anyone that likes escape the room puzzle games, this one is above average, puzzles are clever and the polish is more noticeable than the rough edges.
The Atlas Mystery is a cute little 2-3 hours riddle/puzzle game. After last hotfix the stutters, that were mentioned in earlier reviews here, are now gone and it is good to play on a Valve Index now. The riddles are easy to medium and overall doable. As a streamer I'd wish to have some sort of help system to not get stuck too long in a situation "on air" or for checking back if I ran into a bug (as I was initially thinking I did a mistake and bugged the game, but in fact everything was as it should be but I dod not get it at first). It has a really nice atmosphere with the mystery behind everything. Also some riddles were a bit unusual and added something new to games of this genre I did not see yet, though I play a lot of riddle games, so that was refreshing. I just wished it was a tiny bit longer to be more busy for my stream session, but it is all good so far for the price. Really enjoyed the game. Hope to see more from you soon.
Really, really good. A spooky and atmospheric escape room. Great sound design also and puzzles were the perfect difficulty, ie, nothing was too obscure or annoying. If you liked "The Room, A Dark Matter" then you'll almost surely like this. Game is clearly made by a small indie company so there are a few bugs ect, but nothing unforgivable. Game is short, probably only an hour or two for most people but considering a real escape room is $50 for an hour and a movie is around $30 nowadays, the price is fine.
This was a fun game with some interesting mechanics. I've never seen fluid physics or wobbly cable physics used in VR before. The game needs some polish in some areas, but the devs are responsive to feedback in their discord. If you like VR puzzle games, I'd pick this up.
