Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review here: https://youtu.be/cS2DtfqhlJw This is a budget priced, short puzzle escape room. Now, it did take me 90 minutes to beat the game and I did have to get a hint from the Steam Community forum. However, I breezed through the rest of the game. I would estimate it would take most people about an hour to beat the game. I think the puzzles are casual difficulty puzzles, which are perfect for those new to puzzle games or casual gamers. There is also a hint system in the pause menu if you need extra help (which didn't help me on the cipher puzzle). The visuals are good and there's even a little bit of a story. There's some VOs as well, but they are from non-native speakers. My biggest criticism of the game is just that it's pretty short. You have the tutorial puzzle, 2 rooms, and then just the end room which is just additional story. However, the game is solid overall. It has nice visuals & sounds. The puzzles are things you can solve just by being observant. It's a pretty polished experience. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You can play seated or standing. You have full locomotion, along with snap turning (no smooth turning). You also have button crouch so you can easily pick up stuff from the ground. Rate 7/10. Solid overall.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. had a semi-transparent black box covering the majority of my field of view the whole game. hand tracking does not work properly for valve index. game acts like you have quest controllers so the angle is way off making things difficult to hold while reading or looking at clues. even with the technical difficulties I beat the game in 30 min with hints off. with very few exceptions the only things you can interact with are directly related to the puzzle. making it easy to figure out what to pay attention to and what to ignore. essentially guiding you through the game. an obvious issue for a puzzle/escape room game.
Grandma's Legacy VR – The Mystery Puzzle Solving Escape Room Game is a Free VR game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a tutorial. Has 6 steam acheivements, one requires a second run through. Short game. Maybe Try this game, if you like Escape room or puzzles games. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Great looking but a bit short escape the room game with easy to medium puzzles. Story goes, you go visit your grandma and find her house deserted, but find some clues and some newspaper clippings that tell a story of something that happened a while back... There is a sense of mystery, but nothing scary. More like you are "yo Granma! where r u!" and there are like puzzles to solve which lead further into the house. Took me ~30min to finish all the rooms, i read everything i came across. And then i went back for a 2nd run to figure out how to solve a puzzle i "skipped" and to get the achievements i missed. Puzzles where in my opinion easy, maybe medium difficulty (i play a lot of these games). Clues where clear and where to use them was clear too. Game is a bit rough on some things like grabbing things, and looking behind them it is awkward, if you try to reposition it, it just regrabs the same way. And its a bit annoying that you can open certain cabinets and drawers, and grab some things, but not others that you also should. The biggest bugs i encountered was that i dropped through the floor when moving to a new room (the one that doesnt need a key) worked fine after restarting as i approached directly from the front... And i guess the most annoying a couple of puzzles didnt trigger right away, like if you arent sure of your answer, you might get frustrated when a correct answer doesnt activate because something is slightly off-center. Not that big a deal, its not like it doesnt have a deadzone, but felt too small. Game looks Fantastic, and was buttery smooth all the way through. Story was OK, felt like an intro to more chapters, which i would absolutely love to try out. Very Family Friendly. Recommended for anyone wanting to play a short, great looking escape the room game.
I'm sorry, but what the heck was that? There were perhaps a dozen puzzles all together which were for the most part extremely simple to figure out.... my playtime shows 1.4 hours, but much of that was trying to pick items I needed back up off the floor because I'd dropped them by accident. I'd say I actually played for less than 1 hour and reached the end of the game. I guess that explains the low price.
Recomendado.
Short VR game with easy to solve puzzles (At least for me). Small bit of lore and detailed VR environment. Not too many items to interact with however the graphics look nice and the items were placed in areas to make the scene feel lively. Its fun to look around inside of this house.
